Disappointing Service and Unreasonable 30-Day Notice Despite Performance Issues
Unfortunately, our experience with this company has been extremely disappointing. We engaged them because we believed we were paying a premium for a properly vetted virtual assistant and the support of an agency behind that placement. The candidate was presented to us as one of their strongest options. In practice, however, we have dealt with repeated missed deadlines, missed meetings, incomplete work, lack of follow-up and numerous errors. We have spent more time managing, correcting and following up on the VA's work than the service has saved us. At this point, it has actually cost our business money. What has been even more disappointing is how the agency has handled our request to terminate. We are not cancelling because we simply changed our minds or decided we no longer need a VA. We are asking to terminate because the person they placed is repeatedly not completing the work we are paying for. Despite raising these performance concerns, we are being held to an additional 30-day notice period, meaning we are expected to continue paying full price for another month for a service that is already not being adequately delivered. I understand having contractual notice periods under normal circumstances. However, I would expect an agency to have a reasonable process for situations where its placement is demonstrably not performing the role—particularly when there are documented missed meetings, missed deadlines and incomplete work. The experience has also left us questioning the value of the agency model in this case. We expected meaningful vetting, accountability and support behind the candidate being recommended, not simply an introduction based largely on a resume followed by the client assuming the performance risk. We genuinely wanted this relationship to work, but unfortunately the quality of the placement, lack of accountability and the response to our concerns have left us extremely disappointed.
