Needs Over Wants
This review is several months overdue. Back in May of 2022 we began looking overall several CRMs to begin scaling our operation. Left Main, REISimpli, REIreply, Pipedrive, we looked at them all. Long story short, we ended up going with REISift. Why? The bottom line is, I saw the long-term vision for the product and the design goals. It became clear there would be a steady march towards every feature you would ever need (or want), it would just be in the order that the company felt would offer the best ROI for its users. That means needs before wants. In this industry it’s important to make decisions based on alignment and not short-term wants, so that's why we went with Sift. Within the same month we were evaluating Sift several new features were already rolled out. Several months later, after we were onboarded, that trend continued with Kanban boards, new filtering criteria, additional phone numbers, custom statuses, and upgrades to sequences, and an Owner Page that gives you insight into key-sellers in your database. Here in November, we're within striking distance to Launch Control integration, a robust KPI tracking solution, SmrtPhone integration, mobile-view upgrades and more. You can see the consistency and quality improve month over month. Nothing in the industry currently gives you better control into your marketing, gives you the tools to systematize/customize your marketing, reduces skip-tracing waste, and reduces duplication of effort. Is learning the software a skillset in and of itself? Yes. Is it harder (at first) than other offerings in the space? Yes, there's no getting around the initial time-sink needed to get this the way you want it. Is it worth it? Yes. Period. This software is going to exist in my business forever, even if I do someday move to another CRM. Though, to be honest it is really unlikely we will ever need to do that now with the current roadmap. Even Salesforce will have an extremely hard time competing unless you have a 10+ person AQS team, multiple markets, and are pushing 100 deals a year. Support is also extremely responsive and helpful which is important when your whole business runs out of a tool. This isn't specific to the software, but if you're new to this space, you're probably not going to find a better, more detailed, or hands-on explanation of how to market and best practices in the industry. And yes, that content is free, which I think speaks volumes about the company itself. What I like: - Overall time-savings once everything is set up - You will never talk to the same seller twice, unless you want to - You will never pay for the same piece of data twice, unless you want to - Makes double-skipping a breeze - List-stacking - Amazing organization tools - Amazing cost-savings - Competitive pricing - If you do it right, there really isn't a better chain-of-custody over your individual records that you're going to have. Prospect-to-revenue, not just lead-to-revenue - Bye bye spreadsheets for marketing. Everything lives in the software - You're not going to have better insight over your data and marketing anywhere else - Able to automate key tasks - Extremely customizable marketing, filters, tasks, and automation - Responsive/helpful support - Most of the “What I don’t likes” are minor at this point - Full confidence that the "What I don't likes" will be ironed out with time What I don't like (right now): - Learning curve (worth it) - Automations and tasks have to be replicated for every individual user which can make changing things cumbersome - Search bar is not user-friendly - Lack of 1:1 texting slows down my team’s prospecting and AQS efforts (This seems to be on the roadmap) - Minor bug fixes and gripes with some of the functionality (Support tackles these urgently and head-on) - Tied to a weak softphone offering (Will be solved in the next 30 days) - When you're marketing gets as complicated as mine is, there is a lot of additional clicking that is needed and you can lose your place - Manual KPIs (Will be solved in the next quarter) If you've read this far, I want to extend a hand to anyone who is on the fence here. I am more than happy to have a quick discussion with you on if the tool is right for you (spoiler it probably is), the things to do and focus on first, and answer any initial questions you have.
