Maybe in the future Was treated in October 2021 with stem cell therapy procedure after 1.5 years of left hip osteoarthritis pain. Since sport is my job, I tried everything and nothing helped, so that I could handle less and less mentally and physically. eventually ended up at regenexx Belgium, after evaluation mri scan I turned out to be a suitable candidate for stem cell therapy. The team and doctor janusazz were friendly and caring before and during procedure. No improvement after six months, even worse after MRI. The team stopped shortly after my treatment and the doctor left for Switzerland, we were not told this beforehand. I think this is anything but correct, collect 7500 € for zero result and then don't even make any effort to follow up, except that you could always make a video call. this feels like money making to me and not ethically correct. If they claim to be so good that they ask for 3/4 of the amount as an advance and that you only have to pay the last part if it works. Live vertaling

In April 2021 I had a video consult with Dr. Leiber about Regenexx procedures to the right hip joint which had given me problems for 10 years. He did inform me that the hip joint is the most difficult to treat with these procedures, but nevertheless went ahead and recommended stem cell, plasma and fat cell injections after receiving a current MRI of the hip. NOTHING helped even a little bit! I feel that after looking at the MRI and realizing that this hip is experiencing moderate to severe degeneration, he should have made the decision that Regenexx procedures will not reverse or even ameliorate the condition. I feel making money was a priority in this case. A year later (last month) I had a total hip replacement and feel 100% better now.

I would give a 0 if I could. I had stem cell therapy on my right ankle. After a year, the benefits have been negligible. What really has me ticked is in sept I received an email from the Sarasota office that I should consider receiving a “booster shot”. The email stated it would cost $900. I agreed to try it and was told it would be covered under my insurance. Got EOB in March and Regenexx billed my insurance for over $2500. My insurance paid over $2k for a procedure I was told would cost $900. I now have to pay out of pocket $500 when I was expecting $180. The booster was a complete waste.

So this is less about Regenexx than the whole PRP procedure. These clinics charge outrageous sums of money. I paid over 6000 for shoulder and hip injections. The hip injection was so painful that I passed out on the table. Didn't work at all, but what really gets me pissed off is that the Doctor told me that I just had bursitis in my hip which later was diagnosed with severe arthritis and subsequently had a hip replacement which worked out great. Later I went to a normal shoulder doctor told him my experience with PRP and how much I paid...he said in his office and he is part of my network, it would have been more around 4-600 for the PRP injections.

I would absolutely NOT recommend it!!!! If I could turn back time, I totally would. This procedure on my lower back and SI joint was very expensive ($6,500.00) and 100% ineffective.The so called minimally invasive procedure flared up my back pain to the point where I have been in the most severe pain I have ever been since the surgery. I am 6 month post and I have worse problems performing ADLs and in general living my life. I also believe that I have not received proper local anesthesia as the pain was so unbearable, the middle of the procedure I had to ask to stop it, started crying on a procedure table and was not sure if I would be able to go through the rest of it. Absolutely the worst experience in my life. Stay away.

I went into regenexx to treat a very minor shoulder injury, back lower shoulder. Pain wasn’t too bad but I wanted to be back to new again. The doctor went crazy and injected my entire shoulder, all over, not just the area injured. I’m over a month out and he injured areas that never hurt before. I can’t take care of my kids, he’s ruined me. I’m in pain. I wish I never went. He said risk was zero, and now I am WAY worse than before. Doing the follow up, the ultrasound showed excess inflammation ALL OVER my shoulder. He couldn’t answer my questions or explain anything. Offered not hope. He did offer a cortisone shot now and I wouldn’t let him get near my shoulder again. I’m devastated! THIS IS NOT RISK FREE! I am not at all happy with Regenexx. Wish I would’ve gone somewhere else or never done this! And what’s worse is he won’t answer my calls, the front desk is rude, I’m rushed, worst experience ever! They don’t care about you!

I am 50 year old man with chronic back pain. I decided to try the PRP injections, and took 2 time procedure of Regenexx DDD, which costs me total of $8K. Unfortunately, this didn't work out well, and I wasted my time. This procedure was performed in San Diego office by Dr. Derrington, who's kind, but lack of clinical experience because I realized his diagnosis and procedure turned out incorrect, and his treatment wasn't enough to address my issue.

Short Answer: DO NOT have this procedure done. It doesn't work. It has not been studied through traditional peer review. It is a waste of time and money. Before and After MRI showed no change. Long Answer: A small tear of my meniscus maybe 1/4 to 1/2". I asked my normal sports medicine doctor if Platelet Rich Plasma would work. Based on his experience PRP would not work on the knee as the joint was just too big. I was determined to try to recover and did it anyway, also went with the more expensive Regenexx procedure over just PRP. The procedure was easy and painless, it is a 3 step process. Day 1: Harvest and inject PRP Platelet Rich Plasma Day 2: Harvest Stem Cells from your pelvis, and inject them along with the Regenexx solution into your knee. Go home stay off your feet for the next 24 hours as much as possible. Day 3: Harvest and inject PRP as a booster for Day 2 injection. Day 4+ Take it easy and eat nutrients that will help repair cartilage. They will try to sell you a vitamin nutrient blend. With just a little google research you can make it yourself for a lot less money. 9 months later: I had another PRP injection, from the same doctor. 11 months MRI: The MRI showed no change from the prior condition. I'm 2 years out and cannot recommend this procedure at all. In my opinion, it is Snake Oil. Do not spend your money on it. It has not been researched and proven to work as normal drugs/procedures are. Why? if a doctor is injecting something from your personal body back into your personal body, the FDA doesn't regulate it. Thus it is a loophole that Regenexx company and the doctors are using to make money on a procedure that is not a peer-reviewed / double-blind test. You can find more about that via a quick internet search. I wish it was otherwise. I wish I could recommend this service. Based on my before/after MRI images, the procedure did nothing.
