By a patern on raverly for round about 9 to 10€ made from a unknown and unexperienced, selfnamed expert and then by a book for 20€. You'll get 20 patterns created by experts and read an corrected by technicians. Why petiteknit never wrote a book with her patterns? 🤔😅 Because all the sheeps on raverly are buying one pattern for 10€ 😅 There are so many patterns that she modificate just a bit and sells under a different name again for the same amount of money. 🤑😂💰💵💸

Beats Etsy, hands down. 1. Duplicate purchases aren't possible because they go in your library. If you try to purchase again, it shows already purchased. Etsy fails this one. 2. Randos can't contact/spam you. Your account truly is private. Another Etsy fail. Randos can click on your name from reviews you leave, message/spam and view your info. 3. No forced reviews; no popularity contests. Etsy fails this one, too. 4. Ravelry won't allow political stuff, regardless which party you like. not sure about Etsy. 5. Never needed to contact Ravelry customer service. Etsy fails at this. 6. Almost no pirated patterns (can't say none, since I haven't looked at all of them). Etsy is rife with them and a haven for pirated pattern sellers. Can't report; only copyright holder can contact Etsy. Update: 7. Etsy is rife with AI images (some also have actual images, but most don't) and AI created patterns. I'm slowly purchasing crochet patterns saved in my Favorites, from sellers I already know are legit. After they're gone, I won't be purchasing except for new patterns from trusted sellers. I always check Ravelry first and purchase there, if possible

I have had an account on Ravelry for many years. I bought a myriad of patterns on that site. After a sabbatical I went back and logged in with my correct credentials, but the site told me to give a new password. The only option to do that is the email address the account is connected to. To this account I do not longer have access. Alternatively, you can message a responsible person, which I did. And then nothing. After several tries and two weeks waiting still nothing. I do not longer have access to the patterns that I legitimately paid for with my hard earned money. Absolutely terrible service.

I see a lot of conservative people on here complaining about the ban of pro-Trump patterns and yes that censorship is a concern. Since I’m a political moderate, and while I don’t really support the decision to censor, it doesn’t really affect me that much. Rainbow flags on everything is annoying at best to me but easy to ignore (as would an overtly Christian theme, for example). Mostly I don’t care either way. My problem with Ravelry, though, might be tangential to this, since narcissistic leftist-types seem to overvalue themselves and seek to make a lot of money while claiming to be communists. My actual problem rests with the price of patterns on the site. If you created a beautiful and complex sweater with multiple sizes, or even a simple sweater I will pay 10-12 dollars for it. Maybe more. Many of the patterns I see are literally the same 1x1 rib folded brim beanie 700 times (that has already existed as a free pattern for 10+ years) with a cost of 7-8 dollars a pop. Modeled by boring and smug looking androgynous white women who look very, very proud of themselves. This is a possible result of banning half your user base: everything looks exactly the same now. Hate the Trumpers all you want, but they are definitely a diverse group. It also brings up another question: how much does Rav skim off the top of these users so they have to jack prices up that high?! Unsurprisingly most of them don’t list any “projects” because well, most people can’t afford that. In addition, the site was coded before widespread mobile phone use and hasn’t really been updated since 2008ish except to make it worse. They don’t have their own app(why? I know way less popular things that have apps now) and the browser mobile view is ugly and hard to use. Worst of ALL, I have heard they have had data leaks in the past which makes me not want to use it to purchase anymore. Dying website made worse by the oblivious developers.

I love Ravelry and always have. Finding their site was like discovering a secret garden. Thanks so much!

Ravelry is an excellent sight. I’ve been a user since the beginning- never had to pay a cent to use it and they’ve never been anything but helpful and accommodating. I absolutely recommend for anyone who likes knitting or crocheting.

The greatest resource ever for knitters (and crocheters!) I've been a member of Ravelry for many years and I use it a few times a week. To have this at our fingertips as crafters makes us extremely lucky indeed. It's an incredibly advanced database which covers pretty much every search you'd ever want to do to find patterns, designers, yarn, you name it. I love it!
