Quasar was excellent in every way. Philip the rep was outstanding and the guide, Rodrigo, he selected was perfect for our group of four who had varied interests. If I could change one thing is the time spent in Patagonia. We all agreed it should have been twice as long. I plan to use Quasar again and have the companyrecommended to several friends.

This was a long-time-planned trip, much anticipated and a lifetime goal. We were thrilled and so very very pleased with how Quasar handled the entire package for us. The M/Y Grace is elegant and comfortable, staff and cuisine superb and the naturalists knowledgeable and friendly. We would have NO reservations about recommending Quasar/Galapagos/Grace to anyone.

Quasar provided a unique and unfailingly optimal experience. From the pre-trip experience right up to saying goodbye to our guides, it was excellent. The boat was well appointed, the food superb, the staff was very friendly, professional and accommodating, and I can't say enough about our naturalists, Gustavo and Alex. The breadth and depth of their knowledge, and their passion to share it is astounding. And then, of course, there are the islands themselves, the topography, wildlife and flora providing for a truly unique experience. I would highly recommend Quasar for a Galapagos expedition.

Great naturalist and co travelers. Very good food. Few issues with newly refurbished boat but quickly addressed.

Great Galapagos trip! Everything went very smoothly in terms of arrivals and transfer, departures etc.. The boat is great, the crew and guides were all really helpful and organized. Excursions and snorkeling were excellent. The food at every meal was excellent. Like being at very good restaurant, three meals a day every day for a week. Having the flexibility to allow me to go scuba diving in the morning that we embarked, and meet the boat later, was really appreciated. the Information packs provided ahead of time were very comprehensive, with lots of detailed information. It was almost too much informatiom! Maybe a simple checklist of the first priority, critical information to read first would be a good idea. We did get reminders when critical information from us was needed ahead of time. Staff were helpful by phone and by email. The mainland Ecuador trip afterwards was good overall too. However the itinerary had errors in it. When errors were pointed out they didn't always get rectified in new versions. It was sometimes hard to communicate with the local office when there were issue. Language barrier maybe? Some of the day trips and hike timings seemed to be off, in that the hikes took much longer, possibly due to wet conditions and the altitude in some places. My wife got sick after one meal that was set up as part of one our day trips, which was unfortunate. Overall 5 stars for the Galapogos cruise, 3.5 stars for the mainland.

We greatly appreciate your feedback, Adrian! It sounds as if all your Galapagos cruise and the pre-trip preparations went very well. One comment is that we do have check lists at the start of each section in our pre-trip information to make reminders a bit easier, but perhaps we can emphasize that better. Regarding your mainland Ecuador arrangements. Once our passengers are within a couple of weeks of their departure, we like to have our local staff in Quito send out a welcome letter with details. They typically do an excellent job and passengers tell us they enjoy being in touch with the people who will be taking care of them in Ecuador. We encourage any passenger who feels that something is not clear to contact the same staff you mentioned as being very helpful so that we can clarify any issues as our goal is for everything to go more than smoothly. Yes, weather conditions, elevation and fitness all effect hiking in the Andes and we encourage hikers to communicate with their guide if they feel they wish to simply turn around or shorten a hike. Our travelers are pleasantly surprised at the freshness and variety of foods they encounter in Ecuador, the benefits of a year round growing season on the equator with many different climate zones. The vast majority of our travelers enjoy very healthy trips and we take great care to ensure this by way of the ingredients we use and how they are prepared as well as places we take passengers to dine in the mainland. However, we are very sorry to learn of what happened to your wife! Every now and again, travelers may experience an upset stomach due to the new foods or climate change during a trip abroad. We urge all of our passengers to follow the CDC guidelines as well as consult with their physician. Thank you, The Quasar Expeditions' Management Team
