Getting coupons a joke
I learned a couple months ago to call Purina for free coupons once a month. I'm elderly and low income. Customer Service Reps had been cooperative until recently when I requested another month issue. Was told they are low in supply and only give $1 off coupons, but under rare circumstances you could receive a couple of free coupons. No definition of rare circumstances, although asked. I searched for the CEO's email in St. Louis for direct correspondence about this sudden surprise change and sent it off, knowing they are closed on the weekend, in hopes she'll receive it Monday. 2 hours later I received a missed call and voicemail from a supervisor. I return the call, taking 3 tries later to reach a live person. When I do speak to someone I'm questioning why a supervisor is calling me or possibly intercepted my CEO email. Finally I'm speaking with a supposed woman supervisor, working at home, won't answer the initial questions but I have a case number. Why? She states Purina is cutting back on coupons, no explanation of rare circumstances and states they will review people's request on a case by case situation. Further inquiries were fruitless, she wanted to clock out, stating I'd hear back from someone from Purina within a month. Not holding my breath nor begging like a poor pauper. Nothing like being left daunted and dismissed. I figure coupons are cutting into their profit margins. Inflation at its best in our crap economy. Yet they promote and ego stroke how much money they donate to nonprofits in pet products. Haven't found any nonprofits in my area they fund. Like they don't get a huge tax write-off!! All about the money. Guess I'll take my business elsewhere. UPDATE- The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Got a call recently from a Purina upper management woman. Explained my dilemma. Was very compassionate and sent me out a "googie bag" with about 6 months supply of coupons I needed. Told to keep in touch when I run out. Wish the rest of the world was cooperative to those in need. It pays to be persistent, not beg. I change my vote to 5 STARS!!!
