No testing for endotoxins and heavy metals
The majority of COAs don't show any test results for endotoxins and heavy metals. (-2*) My cart qualified for free shipping and a serum, but after applying points (which I paid for), the perks were removed. (-1*) For the ZZZ spray, the web page instructions say not to refrigerate, but the actual spray bottle says to refrigerate. Which is it? The COA for this product is a joke.
Response from Purgo LabsOct 13, 2026
Hi — thank you for writing this up. Three separate issues, so we will answer all three. But customers who can't seem to find a single thing right with a company leaving reviews like this, without reaching out in regards to any questions before hand, are probably here for ill intent anyways. But we will do our best to explain below your concerns: COAs. Every COA we have is posted on the product page before you buy. We do not hide them. More than 15,000 people purchased from Purgo before we raised our testing floor at the end of September to a minimum of 7x. That change was emailed to every customer and shown on our homepage. How much testing someone wants is a preference. We received basically zero complaints about our prior 3x process, and in the last two weeks we have already added 10+ COAs with 7–8x testing. Ask this plainly: what are 503a compounding pharmacies in the United States actually required to test for? When a 503a pharmacy issues a COA on a compounded drug, they provide identity and purity/potency. Sterility is optional based on the beyond-use date. The FDA has zero heavy-metal testing requirement for 503a pharmacies. If you want more panels than that, that is a preference — but it is not a hidden standard we failed. You should have read the COA on the product page before purchasing. We post them on every product on purpose. Sprays. Finished sprays are not lyophilized vials. They are manufactured custom for us in a 503a USP-standard facility, tested by the pharmacy, then tested again independently. A legitimate lab will tell you that you cannot run a finished spray through the extra panels people usually ask for. Our lab (Ethos Analytics) explained this directly: a finished nasal spray cannot be assigned a chromatographic purity % because the sample is the active plus water, buffers, preservatives, and excipients. Storage. Thank you for catching that. The product page that says not to refrigerate is a typo. The bottle label is current. Follow the bottle. Cart perks and points. Free shipping and the serum unlock at $250 after discounts. Points are a discount, including points you purchased. Applying them can drop the merchandise total under $250 and remove those perks. That is how the cart is built. When you buy points, the purchase page shows this in one large sentence before you pay: “One-time purchase. Non-refundable. No cash value or cash redemption. Points apply to the product subtotal; shipping and fees are excluded.” Points are not cash and they do not preserve gift or free-shipping thresholds after they reduce the subtotal. You explicitly clicked the accept button to agree to this when purchasing the points. Nonetheless, our support team would have / still would refund you right away for this, or ship you the free gift item. We are not hear to nickel and dime anyone - we often give customers these gifts at random for free! If something was not what you expected, we would have gladly refunded the order or explained any COA. You did not email us first, you did not ask a question, and the review does not mention a single thing you liked about the company. When that is the first contact, we treat it as ill intent — not someone looking for a solution. If you actually want one, email [email protected] and say whether you want a refund or a COA walkthrough. We will do either.
