I was happy with my first claim submission. It was simple. However, I still have not received payment and am awaiting a check. No other method is acceptable. I am a Senior with limited mobility and computer knowledge is zero. I am doing good to manage a cell phone.
Thank you.

Don’t fall for the manipulative marketing!
Pumpkin Pet Insurance is nothing but a logo and a website. I insured two cats at a very high premium price ($176/month). I drank their marketing Kool-aid instead of going with a proven company. So that's my fault. I submitted claims at the beginning of November for one cat. I received nothing except the same auto-generated email for WEEKS. When I called over a month later, the customer service rep investigated and told me that my claims were being sent for "audit" on December 16th. I was told that the audit process would take between 30-45 days. Called again in January: "we're waiting on medical records" (which had already been emailed in November.) Because I had to provide medical records from birth for a 13-yr old pet, I reached out to my pet's previous vet and uploaded 65 pages of medical records. Then I was reprimanded by a customer service supervisor for doing so: "we reach out to the vets." Just a delaying tactic. Called again in February: "we have to review these records." It's March. 99% of the claims were denied because vomiting and constipation are "pre-existing." (What cat doesn't vomit? Those are symptoms, not a disease.) But should it BECOME a disease, like lymphoma - even 10 years from now - and even after their supposed 180-day "recovery" time, they won't cover it. I wasted $90 in premiums EACH MONTH waiting for the claims to be denied- and THEY COUNT ON THAT. They do have someone monitoring their social media who will respond to this and to them I say, "your customer service is DREADFUL. If you are delaying claims FOR FOUR MONTHS (in my case) and they are going to "review," YOUR CUSTOMER IS ENTITLED TO KNOW THAT. In a timely manner. And not by dragging it out of you." Pet owners: use another company.

Worst pet insurance ever!
If I could give no stars, I would! I have paid $141 a month and each time I submit a claim, they deny it claiming pre existing conditions my dog has not ever had! Even my vet did not understand what pre existing condition they were talking about, but they will literally not pay what they are responsible for. I canceled with them and I regret the money wasted, paying for a service they refuse to provide. SHE HAS NO PRE EXISTING CONDITIONS! Oh, and they encourage you to file an appeal, but what they don’t tell you is you will file an appeal and go months without hearing anything. This company is a scam and I am convinced the positive reviews are fake.
Response from Pumpkin Pet InsuranceFeb 16, 2022
Thank you for your feedback, Stephanie. As with most providers, we are not able to provide coverage for pre-existing conditions, which does include anything that was showing signs or symptoms or noted by your vet prior to enrollment or during the 14 day waiting period. Additionally, if you disagree with the outcome of a claim, you can file an appeal and we will process that as quickly as possible.

I immediately reconsidered
I immediately reconsidered. Ordered coverage one day and canceled the very next day. 7 days later no confirmation of cancellation. Plenty of e mails cajoling me not to cancel and guilting me for not providing coverage but no confirmation that my immediate request to cancel has been honored. I am shocked by this and expected professionalism.

Fake reviews and a bad company
Fake reviews and a bad company. You can tell all the 5-star reviews are fake because they're all named "customer". The only genuine review with a real name is 1-star.
I also waited on the phone for an hour and received no answer from the Pumpkin side. Stay away from them and their fraudulent claims.
Response from Pumpkin Pet InsuranceOct 21, 2021
Hi Justin - we’re so sorry to hear that you haven’t had the most awesome experience with Pumpkin and we'd love the opportunity to answer questions about your claim. We are available to help our customers by email and chat when our call center is experiencing high call volume. Trustpilot reviews only display the name that individuals choose for their profile (in some cases, it might only say customer, other times a full name, or as in your case, just a first name) as such, in some instances for us to fully resolve an issue we need additional information on the account. We'd appreciate it if you could send us an email at [email protected] and we'll take it from there!

Pumpkin is an Absolute scam
Pumpkin is an Absolute scam. I’m out ALL of the premiums I paid. I found out they have exclusion lists THAT ARE NOT listen in the contract. They call it “proprietary information.” It’s where the company can deny your claim based on “private company knowledge.”
For example. IVVD and wobblers is considered curable with the surgery.
Those conditions are listed on their “private list” As incurable. Therefore they will not cover them and they do not say they will not cover! I’m out over $1000!!!
Just wanted to let everyone know before they throw away thousands and their pet is left with nothing if they get one of the unlisted conditions that no one knows about!
Response from Pumpkin Pet InsuranceOct 10, 2021
Hi Deana, thanks for your feedback. As required by law, all of our exclusions are listed in the policy. If you have any trouble locating that part of the policy, we are here to help! Like many providers, we are unable to provide coverage for anything pre-existing to the policy. That being said, if a condition is considered curable, and goes 180 days cured, treatment, and symptom free, and occurs again in the future, it can be eligible for coverage! If you have questions about a condition and whether or not it is considered curable, you can contact us and we are happy to help. I do see that your only claim for Titus was approved in full and the amount was applied to your chosen deductible. Keep in mind you chose the deductible at enrollment, but can change it each year at renewal if you'd like. If you have questions about a potential future claim or procedure, one great tool is to file an estimate. You can get an estimated invoice from your vet and file the claim as an estimate, and we will process it to determine what could be eligible for coverage. Without a claim filed and veterinary records obtained, we cannot make a determination regarding coverage. That being said, we are happy to answer any questions you have regarding a condition or potential coverage for Titus. You can contact us at [email protected] or chat in with us during business hours. All the best to you and Titus!

Not worth it
I canceled my plan because its honestly not worth it. Had the accident and illness plan along with the essential pack. Filed a claim for a wellness exam and instead of being reimbursed for it the money went towards my deductible. The employee I talked with was nice and tried to figure out why that happened but I still got no money back. I called to cancel and the employee I spoke with apparently never canceled my plan because I was charged for the next month.
Response from Pumpkin Pet InsuranceJul 14, 2021
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback, Sam. We are so sorry to hear this, as this is not the experience we want for you or your kitties. Our insurance plans do work separately from our Preventive Essentials plan, so anything accident or illness related will first be processed under that portion of your plan. We have separately reached out to you via email to see how we can help further!
