I scheduled my transport months in advance. I filled out the paperwork. They took forever to answer questions and then insisted that I, a single person NOT a business, obtain an EIN. When I tried to explain that I am a private citizen trying to ship my car, they insisted I obtain an EIN from the IRS. I am not a business. My SSN is my identification. It was a complete waste of time and they could have told me they were a shady business months ago!

We’re sorry for the frustration this caused. Unfortunately, federal regulations banned the use of Social Security Numbers in the Automated Export System due to privacy laws. To file the required Electronic Export Information for an export or a shipment to a U.S. territory like Puerto Rico, the system must have an Employer Identification Number (EIN). Because the IRS portal does not have a specific button labeled "Individual shipping a personal car," the U.S. government specifically instructs individuals to select Sole Proprietor and check "Started a new business" as a technical placeholder. Our representative did explain the EIN requirement to you and provided instructions on how to apply for one. We also want to stress that this is not a requirement created by Puerto Rico Car Transport. Our website also clearly states that an individual EIN is required for government filing purposes. We understand this may have been frustrating, but this is a requirement related to the government filing process and is not something our company has imposed on customers.

My experience with Puerto Rico Car…
My experience with Puerto Rico Car Transport was extremely disappointing. I had problems throughout the entire process, from communication and customer support to delays, additional charges, and issues with the vehicle. I repeatedly tried to get answers and assistance, but getting meaningful support was a constant struggle.
What was promised to me did not match what actually happened. The shipment was delayed, the vehicle arrived with problems, and I was faced with additional costs that I did not expect. I also requested a refund, but the situation was not resolved satisfactorily.
The biggest problem for me was the lack of accountability and communication when things went wrong. Paying for a transportation service is one thing; being left to chase the company for answers when there are serious problems is another.
Based on my experience, I would be very cautious about using this company. I strongly recommend getting every promise, charge, delivery expectation, damage responsibility, and refund condition in writing before paying anything. My experience was far from the reliable service I expected.

Your name does not match any booking in our system. Please verify you are contacting the correct company and provide your booking number so we can verify you are indeed a customer. If you are able to do so, we would be happy to investigate further.

I have a pickup schedule
I have a pickup schedule, they canceled the same day. I been trying to reach someone on the company , with no answer. NO phone call, no email, nothing. And they charge my credit card.
Response from Puerto Rico Car TransportJun 29, 2026
We sincerely apologize for the frustration and disappointment you experienced. We understand how upsetting it is when a scheduled pickup does not go as planned.
Our records show that a carrier was successfully confirmed for your shipment on June 24, at which time the payment method on file was charged in accordance with the Terms of Agreement. Unfortunately, on June 25, the carrier notified us that they had to cancel the assignment due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.
Once we were informed of the cancellation, our team immediately began working to secure a replacement carrier as quickly as possible. However, before a new carrier could be assigned, you elected to cancel your order. Once we received your cancellation request, we promptly processed a full refund to your original method of payment.
We regret that we were unable to complete your shipment and apologize for the inconvenience this situation caused.

It needs to find better people for Customer Service
It needs to find better people for their customer service. The agent was unprofessional and didn’t provide the appropriate updates and changed the pickup dates at their convenience. Same excuse after another. The truck broke down. They cancelled the order just because they couldn’t provide a service.
Response from Puerto Rico Car TransportMar 3, 2026
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating delays and changing schedules can be.
All pickup and delivery dates are estimated, as carriers can run into unforeseen issues such as mechanical breakdowns, traffic, weather, or route changes. This is stated in our Terms of Agreement and was communicated to you during the process. While these situations are sometimes unavoidable, we understand the importance of clear and professional communication throughout.
As for the cancellation, our records show that the request to cancel the order was made on your end, and we processed it per that request. We would not cancel an order without customer authorization.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will continue working to improve our service and communication moving forward.

This has been the worst customer…
This has been the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I called back within 2 minutes after their operator reached out about my vehicle transport, and even though I had already submitted all paperwork, she refused to look up my profile by name. When I asked for a supervisor, I was told there wasn’t one. When I requested a refund, that was also denied.
I run 3 businesses and employ over 100 people — I know what good customer service looks like. This company does not provide it. Do not recommend.
Response from Puerto Rico Car TransportSep 11, 2025
We’d like to clarify a few details regarding your order. You booked transport on 9/10 for pickup on 9/11, and our team spoke with you right after booking to review the required documents for transport. Your card on file has not been charged, which is why there was no refund to provide.
Our goal is always to make the process as clear and smooth as possible, and we regret if there was any misunderstanding during your call.

My experience with Puerto Rico Car Transport was excellent!!! The process was exactly how it was estimated my car got picked up from my home, left the port and arrived in Puerto Rico right on schedule with no issues or damages to my car. I have referred them to friends and families and will definitely use them again.

I left a good review for this company a few years ago but unfortunately have had the total opposite experience this time.
1st they didn't answer questions and were not helpful in getting answers.
2nd. They have an arrival date then changed it 4 times. Do they not realize that people have lives and can't be rearranging their schedules everyday.
3rd. The day the were suppose to deliver I was told between 1 and 3 and would receive an hours notice. When they didn't show I questioned and was told 5:30. They didn't inform me of the delay I had to reach out to them! I'm still waiting to see if it shows. I have canceled so many appointments and rearranged my schedule because of their incompetence.

We’re pleased to hear that your vehicle has now been delivered, though we’re truly sorry to hear that your recent experience did not match the positive one you had with us in the past.
While we strive for timely and seamless service, all pickup and delivery dates are estimates, as noted in the terms of agreement. Carriers can unfortunately face unforeseen delays such as mechanical issues, traffic, or weather conditions. In your case, the originally assigned carrier experienced a breakdown and was forced to cancel. As soon as we were informed, our team worked urgently to secure a replacement carrier so your transport could move forward as quickly as possible.
In regard to the delivery window, we understand how frustrating it can be to adjust your schedule. Carriers typically provide a 2–3 hour notice prior to arrival, and because delays on the road are common, we do not recommend waiting around for the truck without that confirmation call.
We truly regret the inconvenience this caused and appreciate your past support. Your feedback helps us continue improving communication and transparency for every customer.

Worse experience ever…
To start my truck was picked up from Colorado by a company, come to find out this transport company puerto Rico Car transport did not have any knowledge of who picked up my truck. They asked us to purchase additional insurance from them which we did, TOTAL SCAM! When my truck arrived in Puerto Rico the truck has been driven on 4L an additional 31 miles. The inside of the truck was full of mud. There were fuses taken out and left on floor drivers side. The air conditioner button was broken. The truck would not turn on, an alarm kept going off. I was told to take the truck to 2 different mechanics for estimate at my cost. I took my truck in to Toyota where I was told they observed new electrical tape around the front axel both sides. Messed up the steering column and suspension by being driven on 4L. The truck was leaking from the front end. This truck had always been kept garaged and maintained regularly. The total cost for my damages are over $5000 and Puerto Rico transport claimed that I should file a claim with Crowley as they were not responsible for the damages. Crowley claims they only drove it on the ship and off to file the claim with the transport company. This has been going on since March 26,2025. The bogus insurance now turns out to be as they stated "not an insurance but a coverage", if your car gets any outer damages as far as scratches or so you could file a clsin to see if it's covered. Meaning as long as they deliver you vehicle with no scratches they could remove and damage all other mechanical components of your car and are not responsible for it. The staff is rude and have no knowledge of what they are doing. They give you the run around, waste your time and in the end wipe their hands clean of any responsability. Unless you are willing to take a chance at your vehicle being damage and are financially prepare to sue them for damages, DO NOT USE PUERTO RICO CAR TRANSPORT, worst experience with a company ever!

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience with the transportation of your 2009 Toyota, and truly understand how frustrating this situation has been for you. It’s always our goal to provide a smooth and professional transport process, and we regret that this was not your experience.
Your vehicle was transported from Colorado to Florida by UZ Auto Trans, and pictures were taken in Florida showing the vehicle in the same condition as when it was picked up in Colorado. The vehicle was then placed on a Crowley ship for the final leg to Puerto Rico. It is our understanding that you have already been in touch with Crowley.
We do want to clarify some important points regarding the transport and the agreement signed at the time of booking. The Terms of Agreement explain that we are not liable for mechanical issues as these areas are not inspected during pickup or delivery. One of the reasons there is no inspection of the internals of the vehicles is because the drivers are not trained mechanics. They are not able to determine how much life is left on mechanical functions such as an engine, transmission, or suspension. Also, even if they were trained mechanics, the amount of time and the expense incurred to test every function of a vehicle prior to transport would make it not feasible. These exclusions are standard across the industry and are especially important on older vehicles and vehicles with over 200,000 miles such as yours.
We genuinely apologize for the frustration, stress, and inconvenience this situation has caused. We truly value your business and regret that we were not able to meet your expectations in this case.

Do not use this company.
Puerto Rico car transport had my vehicle picked up at my home on Feb 14 2022. I went to pick it up on Mar 10. The fuel was completely gone including the filter. 2003 Dodge Cummins. The batteries were completely dead and although I had a mechanic look at it at the port I ended up getting a tow truck to deliver the vehicle to my house. After months of trying to find a mechanic including the dealership I ended up researching and fixing the problem myself. They had fried my ECM and TIPM. The insurance strung me along to this point and them because I wanted her to respond more than once every 2 weeks she denied my claim. I spent six months without a vehicle because of their negligence. I filed a complaint with the BBB. On Nov 20, 2024 I got a message that they had responded, probably hoping that I would not see it and the BBB would mark it as resolved. They said they would pay the damages but did not respond to my emails so I reopened the case with the BBB on Jan 3 2025. The BBB contacted them and they called me to confirm my address which they already had and could have sent me a check at any time for 200.00. I sent them the receipts for the parts and that is all I was asking for and they refused and said I must vacate the complaint. Not likely.
It was damage caused by your company incorrectly jumping my vehicle after you ran it out of fuel. The damage was caused while the vehicle was in your care and you refuse to take responsibility. I asked for the exact cost of my receipts 1799.00. If I had been able to get someone else to fix it it would have been easily over 5000.00. I have been more than reasonable with you.

We’re sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your 2003 Dodge after its delivery in 2022. We understand how frustrating this situation must have been for you.
As outlined in our agreement prior to transport, mechanical functions—such as batteries or other interior components—are not covered. This policy exists because it’s not feasible for the carrier to perform a full mechanical inspection of a vehicle’s internal systems at pickup. This is particularly important for older vehicles, which may have limited life left in certain components.
Even though we were under no contractual obligation, we offered $200 in good faith to resolve your initial claim, which matched the full amount requested. After this claim was approved, additional claims were submitted requesting more compensation for items explicitly excluded from coverage in the signed agreement.
We regret that your experience did not meet your expectations and wish you all the best moving forward.
