I brought an item from this website about 1 year ago, and then a year later I was charged almost $80. Once I ended a membership I had no idea I had, and then requested a refund, I was immediately refunded.

Hi - though my family has not ordered anything from Public Goods for over two years, we were still charged membership fees the other day. We did not authorize these charges, nor did Public Goods notify us that they would use our credit card.

I did receive the item - I’ve been using it for a few days now to give it a fair assessment- it is disappointingly small piece of scrubbing cloth - I like the quality but it’s so small i can’t use it to go across my back and the two strings are are very flimsy I’m sure they’ll break very soon it’s a cheap piece of the cheapest rope, not even a handle or something- the cloth itself is small and narrow and on a normal sized man (I’m 5’8) I have a hard time to scrub my back So overall, considering that I paid over $35 for that minuscule piece of loofah that doesn’t do the job properly because mainly of its size - I’m not going to recommend this product - very disappointing quite frankly, the video looks great though

Public Goods has lost my trust. The last purchase I remember making from Public Goods was for a few items in 2021. Since then, I never went back to Public Goods to buy anything. Recently, in 2024 and 2025, I was charged for an annual membership of $79.00. I only noticed both charges this year after I saw a charge to my account on September 2nd, 2025 and investigated it. Not only was I charged without my knowledge, but I was charged higher than the actual annual membership price of $65.00. I informed customer service of these transactions I was unaware of and they gave me the full refund for the charges, plus some. I am extremely satisfied with their response, because not every corporation will give you the money you’re owed, but I will not be shopping from there anymore. I recommend that customers pay attention to their accounts. They should get a free app like RocketMoney to keep track of all known and unfamiliar expenses, and dispute them accordingly.

I have no qualms about the quality of their products nor their customer service. However, after cancelling my account/membership and receiving an email confirming my cancellation and membership fee refund two years ago, they have auto renewed my membership each year after. I'm not pleased.

I first ordered from public goods a couple years ago and was unexpectedly charged a subscription fee so I canceled after discovering that. This isn’t the reason for the 2 stars as I’m sure they have it listed somewhere that you would be charged a subscription if you order something. Although I think it could be more clear as that is a unique business model that I’ve never dealt with. I’ve never had to have a subscription just to buy something from a website but I understand that’s their business model. Anyways, about 2 years after canceling my subscription I was just randomly charged for the subscription again and when I reached out to customer service they tried to convince me to stay and tell me all the benefits of staying and how they could cancel the renewal but keep me a member. But no obviously I just want to cancel and get a refund which I said in my first message. They agreed but it’s inconvenient because now I have to wait 3-10 business days to get that money back which should have never been taken in the first place. If you want to convince me to be a customer again, don’t charge me first and then pitch to me the benefits of staying after.

Bought two sets on November 17th as Christmas gifts, the recipients either had product similar or did not care for the items. Tried to return and found out that aside from their normal 2 week return, there is no extended Holiday returns. They did not offer an exception and said sorry. Poor customer care. I started using a set myself and find that some of the utensils are oddly shaped and not easy to use. And on the spatulas there is a very thin layer of silicone at the seams that will definitely fall off with use at some point, hopefully not in our food.

Where do I start? I placed an order for 2 fitted sheets on 8/31/24 and was told they be delivered the first week of October. When they didn't show up I sent a follow up inquiry and was told the order was canceled and I had to re-order. In the process of re-ordering I realized I needed the promo code I'd used on the original order for $20 off. When they sent it and I went back to the order, I wasn't able to select 2 sheet sets, only one. When I reported this, I was sent a link to order 2 sheet sets with the discount code included. The link didn't work. Then I tried placing the order directly from the store. I could use the discount code but could only order 1, resulting in a $9.95 shipping charge being added to the order. In the end, I gave up and ordered the sheets from Amazon. What a fiasco!
