I signed up for this service in the fall of ‘23, not realizing there was a steep membership fee ($87!) This was my fault for not reading the fine print. I decided to cancel this in April because I was not using their service. I received a refund for the remaining unused time. Last Friday (oct 4), I was billed for membership renewal, despite receiving email confirmation that my membership had been cancelled last April. I was reimbursed for this, but for such a mistake to be made on their ends seems very fishy…

Public Goods signed me up for a paid membership either without my consent or with insufficient visual cues regarding the paid membership (dark pattern). Support is responsive but failed to address the issue unfortunately. Wish the outcome was different. It could have been a positive outcome for both the business and the consumer.

I have used Public Goods for over 2 years, but have decided to find a different supplier for our short-term rentals after having to deal with their atrocious customer service and product quality.

In 2023 I purchased $40.00 worth of goods from Public Goods. I accidentally inherited a year membership for $79.00 which my few shampoo items a very costly buy. In August I get my Discover bill with a new membership charge of $79,00. After contacting Fiscover and Public Goods the best very temporary offer was to shell out another $30.00 on a $70.00 order. Then I quickly got another that because I didn’t reply I was locked in for the full year membership. The $50.00 worth of product purchase has now cost $198.00. I would call that fraud. Order at your own risk!! My children and grandchildren will be informed by card about this organization during the coming holidays. Your good name is all you really have and will submit to BBB.

This company is a complete scam! Just check out their Better Business Bureau score - F! If you buy from them, they will sign you up for a membership, charge you $79 for an "annual fee" something you didn't consent to and then make it impossible for you to cancel it but blocking your password and not sending a reset link. I had to close my AMEX account because they forged documents showing I had signed up for this "membership". Do not purchase from this company without researching them first.

Customer service was awful, didn’t want to work with my product related issue. Just parroting disclosures that were difficult to understand from the website and sent me screenshots of it for proof of some discrete company policy when I was confused instead of helping resolve my issue.

I was basically advised to find my own package. What I expected is for Public Goods to track my order since I paid them for it. I shouldn’t have to chase my own money. Perhaps take a lesson from other retailers? For example, Lululemon tracks my package for me and then follows up. When they can’t find my package, guess what? They issue me a refund. Since Public Goods fell short, I filed a dispute with my credit card company. I don’t have time to pay for a service then do my own forensics on said service. In other words, if I don’t have time to go to a brick and mortar, I don’t have time to make multiple phone calls to chase my order.

Company charged me for four membership renewals, when I had only used once. Never asked me if I wanted to renew, but charged me $50 per year. I never knew I was a member! Criminals. They clearly don't want customers to know about their annual fee. If they did, they would send a notice once a year. God knows they love to send regular e-mails about what's for sale.
