living in nyc and placing an order for a large air conditioner from a company based in texas was---well---daunting---but my trepidation was totally eliminated by the exceptional customer service---well done :)

Hello -- According to our records we tried to reach you on 11/13/25 along with a voicemail but did not hear anything back. We have not been able to get in contact with you to verify the serial number of the broken unit.

I had a very disappointing experience with PTAC4Less due to poor communication and lack of follow-through. In December, I reached out to their customer support twice regarding the purchase of a refurbished PTAC unit and received automated confirmations both times, but never heard back from an actual person. I was also given a discount code, which stopped working the next day. I attempted to follow up but again received no response. By the time someone finally replied weeks later, I was told they are no longer producing refurbished units and once current inventory is gone, that’s it. Had anyone responded when I originally reached out, I likely would have already completed my purchase. Customer service responsiveness is critical when making a large purchase, and unfortunately PTAC4Less failed in that regard. Based on this experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Hey Corey - thank you for taking the time to share this. We’re genuinely sorry for the frustration and missed opportunity you experienced. You’re absolutely right: timely communication is critical, especially for a purchase of this size, and we fell short. During a company transition late last year, some inboxes and processes were not handled as they should have been, and your messages were regrettably missed. That’s on us - and we understand how that led you to lose confidence and ultimately take your business elsewhere. We’ve since corrected those gaps and rebuilt our customer support processes to ensure every inquiry is answered promptly and clearly. While we’re no longer producing refurbished units, we do still offer competitive pricing on new units, and we’d genuinely appreciate the chance to earn back your trust. If you’re open to it, please reach out to us directly and we’ll make sure you’re personally taken care of. Either way, we appreciate your feedback - it helps us improve.

Got one with wrong voltage. Restocking fee and shipping makes it un doable. Will not use again
Response from PTAC4LessFeb 2, 2026
Hi Scott — thank you for your feedback. We understand how frustrating a voltage mismatch can be. For 265V PTAC units, our website displays a pop-up warning during checkout noting that these units are intended for commercial voltage only and requires confirmation before the item is added to the cart. Because the order was placed for a 265V model, our standard restocking and shipping policy applies. That said, we’re always happy to help customers confirm the correct voltage before ordering to avoid issues like this. Please feel free to reach out to our team with any questions—we’re glad to assist.

service was great the only thing that bothered me was this unit was written up on the freight slip as weighing 159 lbs there is no way it weighted that much I am 77 yrs old and I was able to pick up the compressor side with no problem I believe 159lbs was used to inflate shipping cost with ptac pocketing the difference
Response from PTAC4LessJan 9, 2026
Thank you for your review. The unit you ordered (12,000BTU Amana) weighs 120lbs. For shipping we must also include the weight of the pallet. That is where our warehouse gets the total of 159lbs for your order.
