The 110% "No Hassle" Guarantee is a Complete Trap
WARNING TO CANADIAN CUSTOMERS: Pro Teeth Guard uses cross-border payment loopholes to avoid paying their advertised 110% refund guarantee. Pro Teeth Guard promises "a 110% refund" under "a simple, no hassles policy." This statement is a sheer lie: the process of getting the 110% refund is not hassle-free by any stretch of the imagination. The company made this process very difficult and unsettling for me. The only amount Pro Teeth Guard refunds is 100%, while the extra 10% turns out to be available only via a physical check from a U.S. bank. This information is not revealed anywhere on the company website, including during the ordering process, or in the email the CEO JP Ji sends right after the initial order. The company proved to be extremely inflexible and never agreed to accommodate me regarding this matter. In particular, as I am a Canadian resident, the local bank will charge me significant fees for processing a physical check written in a foreign currency. In addition, I have no bank offices of my financial institution in my region, so I would need to pay for travel on top of everything else, just to get the paper check in front of a teller. Overall, this would completely wipe out the value of the refund. It is self-evident that customers cannot accept just any possible form of financial transaction, and forcing one particular method of payment on customers only means some of them will refuse to accept the payment or will never be able to get access to it. The third possibility is that their credit card institution will compensate instead of the shady e-commerce company. I believe that is the entire calculation behind Pro Teeth Guard’s tactic: they advertise the 110% refund, attracting clients, but when the time comes for reimbursement, they simply dump the client, leaving them to deal with the problem of getting the remaining 10% themselves. Now, it is important to state that not only did Pro Teeth Guard make me waste more than three months of my time and energy with a myriad of senseless activities—such as filling out endless electronic and paper forms, where I had to repeat the same information over and over again; making dental impressions with low-quality trays that never really fit; and taking dozens of very difficult photographs, some of which were obviously useless, such as high-resolution pictures of the gums at the back of my mouth when the problem was with my front teeth—but I also had to spend additional money for printing services because of the company's numerous requirements. I literally felt manipulated, as if I was “working” for them. And the product I received was of laughable quality. I could not close my mouth, and the night guard was painfully pressing against my front teeth. I asked for an adjustment, but nothing was really adjusted; what I received back was the same wrongly shaped piece of silicone, but in addition, cut and scratched in a really awkward and sloppy manner, basically making it even less usable. I believe making quality custom dental guards has never been Pro Teeth Guard’s purpose; instead, they take the customer's money to hold it for a few months until the customer realizes they are being duped and asks for the promised refund. But there will not be a full refund either.
