While I believe I got a new camera for a good price, I found the service to be slow and not especially friendly. The gentleman I spoke to, while he was not outright rude, seemed annoyed that I dare bother him, and also that he couldn't get me to bite on accessories that I made clear I did not need. He did get me to buy the "US" version as the cheaper "import" was not in stock, despite the website advertising "order now". The real downside was how long it took. I placed the order online on a Saturday, and Monday called to see when I could expect my camera since I paid the $70 for overnight shipping. I was told that it would take a couple days to process and I should expect it by that Thursday or Friday. As of this past Sunday, no camera, I call again and was told that it had shipped and that I should expect an email with a tracking number and should have my camera by Wednesday. I finally received tracking information Monday evening, and received that package today (Thursday). Hardly overnight. I may have had a much better experience than some of the nightmare reviews I've read, but rest assured I will not deal with this company ever again.

Scammed & overcharged! this is a BAD company!
Scammed & overcharged! this is a BAD company!
I bought a cyber- shot camera DSC- HX20V for $269.99 from primotronix.com on 5/29/13. A few days later when I had expected the camera to be delivered, I received a call from a sales rep trying to sell me an Extended sony battery for 49.99. I said I already had the same camera ( I was purchasing a 2nd for my daughter) and the regular battery works fine. He said I must have bought an extended one since the standard only works for 30 minutes. I was hesitant so he said the special was 2 batteries for 49.99.I asked if all products were brand new in original packages and Sony products.he confirmed they were. So I said I would get the batteries. I received the box on 6/6/13. I was charged 338.99 which was 24.10 more then he quoted. The camera was NOT in original factory box. There was No warranty. One battery was Not Sony and did not look like the one advertised online. The 2nd battery was Sony but not in any package nor were the accessories packaged. They were put in a white nondescript box. There is a SKD number on the bottom of the camera that is greyed out with a marker. I now wonder if this company not only sells used equipment posing as new but maybe they are selling illegal items. Their website is misleading. They have various business hours depending on where you look. I have not been able to get in touch with them by phone. They owe me money, an explanation and a warranty by Sony. I would rather just return this entire order as I do not think they are legal but I would never trust that they would give me a credit to my credit card.

slow to ship, but they did respond
They listed a low price online, so I ordered a camera here. For 8 days, the status of the order never changed from "In Progress". No word from them. So I canceled it over the phone. Later they called me re this review & tried to set things straight. Gotta admit that was interesting.
After cancelling the order, I found 1 on ebay for a bit more $. Received it in 3 days - that's more like it!

Awful, Tried to charge me a different price, Item they sent was used & missing parts.
I didn't do my homework on them before purchasing, hopefully you do!
They require phone numbers so that they can "verify shipping information" but they really are just calling to try to sell you more stuff. I said no to all that then they quickly said my total came to something well over what I had purchased the item for. When I objected they seemed shocked that I did not see a fine print disclaimer that popped up when you mouse over an unrelated image on the product page. they claimed that it was for insurance (~$25 for a $280 dollar item). When I told them to cancel the order then they said just this one time they would waive the fee.
I just received the item and it is not what they advertised. they said "all items are brand new factory sealed, complete with all original accessories" None of that ended up being true. The item was poorly packed in a plain white box, and not protected inside at all. It was also missing several of the accessories that come with the item and which they specifically included on the product page.
After sitting on hold for 30 mins to talk to their customer service they simply hung up on me.
So to recap:
- Dishonest and deceptive business practices.
- Item not as advertised, missing parts
- Awful customer service
UPDATE: After posting this review I received a call from their customer service to respond to my dissatisfaction with their company. They have offered to send the missing items and I was told that though the camera was in generic packaging it was a "wholesale" version directly from an authorized seller of the company. They have offered a free gift to make up for my negative experience. I have updated my rating from 1 star to 2 stars based on their efforts to make the situation right.

Not worth the wait, online, on phone
Ordered camera 12/4. Received a confirmation email stated my order was transferred, no further communication until I called them 7 days later. I was told my order was now verified. Waited on hold for 30+ minutes. Called 12/17 and waited online for another 30 minutes +, I was told my order will arrive Friday but there is no tracking number. If it gets here it will be 17 days later. Not your typical, efficient, friendly vendor. Would not use again.

Terrible customer service
I ordered a Canon G12 from primotronix.com on November 21, in my order review it was stated that I would receive my order in 7-9 business days, 22 days later and I have still not received my camera. I have sent multiple emails and have not heard back from the company, I have also called four times only to be put on hold for over 30 minutes each time before being dissconected. When I finally get a chance to talk to someone, I will cancel my order. I should have researched this company a little more before placing my order. Do your research before you use primotronix, there are many more trustworthy companies out there to choose from.

I'm Back...
**UPDATE** 01.02.13
Taking a star. Still haven't received my refund for the camera I sent back. Currently on hold with "customer service" and have been on hold three separate times. I've also had multiple experiences with what I'm pretty sure is the same jerk who transfers your call while you're in mid sentence. Man, that guy sucks. If anyone else is trying to check on the status of a return, and not deal with that initial a**hole, the extension is 301. I'm done trying to give this company the benefit of the doubt. I'm pretty sure there are even fake reviews on here from Primotronix themselves. In retrospect, the hassle I've gone through with Primotronix is just not worth what is most likely a grey market camera and what is most certainly subpar customer service. Simply put, you get what you pay for.
**UPDATE** 12.20.12
The camera arrived, a Canon Rebel T3, and it looked good. Very legit, proper packaging, etc. Exactly what I ordered. However, despite their quick work to rectify the initial shipping malfunction, in the end it still took three weeks time to get it here and before it did, my mom bought herself another camera. This means I had to issue a return to Primotronix. So to be clear, I never used the camera, but again it looked legit.
Bottom line: I just got off the phone with Doug, and yeah, their call center isn't the best; a little dodgy, a little disorganized, but it sounds to me like they're taking these reviews to heart, they seem genuinely apologetic for the errors on their end, and overall concerned with customer satisfaction. He told me they'd waive the restocking fee as long as the camera was in proper shape, he was helpful and pleasant. I didn't have to threaten or beg to get it waived either. It sucks that I had to spend $16 to ship it back to them, but, eh. I think ol' Pat Collins on here said it best, "Not a scam... but not Amazon either." They're just a company, of people, trying to make it work.
**Original Review 12.11.12**
I just called the 1-800 number as well to try check on the status of a Canon T3 I ordered. On hold for just under 20 minutes and the call got dropped. Immediately redialed, and was patched through within a couple of minutes. While waiting the second time though I googled these reviews and was starting to get pretty nervous that I'd been scammed. Guy answers the phone and I tell him my concern. He said calls are getting dropped because of how busy they are and their lines are "fried" and he was aware of the bad reviews stemming from this. My order hadn't even shipped yet (I placed it on Nov. 26th) but to his credit he was honest about it, and told me he would fix it immediately. I'm giving them 3 stars, in the spirit of Christmas, but mainly because of his honesty. As long as my mom gets this camera by Christmas, what do I care how long it takes? No one should get scammed, but at the same time, no one in a call center deserves to get chewed out at Christmas because the company they work for has overwhelmed them. Will update if things don't turn out right.
P.S. He did try to up-sell me some battery pack for the camera, I just told him whatever I originally ordered is what I want and that was the end of it. No pushy sales pitch or anything.

Wondering if the money saved is actually worth it.
I ordered after looking through so many great reviews, hoping I would have the same experience. I ordered my equipment 11 days ago and customer service does not respond back to any of the emails I have sent, do not respond to the calls I have placed, or attempt to give any indication of where my order is.
I have read the cheap price is due to camera import models and I can confirm that they do not hold their own stock, they drop ship their equipment from various places so you never know the actual quality of item you will receive. I cant confirm either but I have heard they do not ship in the original packaging as well.
I will not order from Primotronix again and I would advise not doing so for anyone else as well.
