Hidden fees
The facility is perfect. The people at the counter were friendly and helpful. My complaint is with the contents insurance fee. They have designed a needlessly complex method remove the fee if you already have insurance. If the facility wishes to make more money, they should just charge more for the spaces. This hidden cost only becomes apparent after you are at the desk to sign in. I hate being lied to.

Dear Dale, The Protection Plan is not an insurance policy. It provides limited coverage for specific damage. It allows for a claim to be submitted without any deductible, which may be the case with insurance policies. Because the Protection Plan coverage is limited, we encourage tenants to carry home owner’s or renter’s insurance that extends to their stored belongings to ensure full coverage of their items. Of course, tenants should check with your insurance agent to be sure their policy extends to stored items. As you noted in your review, we do allow tenants to opt-out by providing proof of insurance. But if tenants do not have their own insurance, we offer the Protection Plan for at least some coverage for damage that can occur. This plan is not a mechanism to “make more money” but rather to offer some protection to our tenants. This type of program is common practice in the storage industry and some operators offer full insurance programs, which we, at this time, do not. Thank you for your feedback.
