I used this exam prep course for the ARE exam and while I did pass my exam, I feel it was more due to the supplementary materials I used rather than this study program. The text materials I bought from this package didn't have enough examples or situational practice problems for me to find this useful. It's a decent study program, but I would recommend it in conjunction with another to feel confident in taking another exam

The class was more self taught then I thought it was going to be but the material and tools helped me pass the exam.

I would like for the course to have more time and also be able to review all the topics as a live class instead of having 4 topics that had to be done before the live class started. It felt like a rush from the start.

The Book is the most useful item in this product. The flash cards I didn’t really use much, the videos are poorly done and cover very little content, the practice exams are helpful to a point and that point is till you are able to memorize the answers from previous tries because the practice exam questions are identical to any quiz questions you take while studying the material. Therefore if you simply remember the correct answers you aren’t necessarily required to know how to get to the correct answer. I’ve used this product 3 times and failed 2 out of 3 tests. The 2 I failed were the same test. I would suggest purchasing the book and that’s all. There are other study programs that Have better content that actually teach you the content more thoroughly and give exam questions that actually look like the ARE 5.0 content

The content of the course was excellent,but it was difficult to keep up during the classes due to outside commitment. Overall the course was great, I just wish it was longer.

Overall I was not thrilled with my experience for the Civil PE Live Lecture Course. While both instructors were great and very knowledgeable, I do not think the course is adequately modified for the CBT. I expected much more focus on practice problems during the lectures rather than theory or concepts, which can be self-taught through the use of the multiple books that are provided. It is very easy to fall behind since the course is very fast paced and doesn't spend much time going into specific details but I recognize that is impossible to do for every potential exam topic. I also find it completely unacceptable for the number of errors that were found in both the lecture slides and the quiz generator by not only myself but also from feedback by other course takers. Some quiz problems are also too lengthy or too difficult, and do not even use equations given to you in the NCEES manual, which is not useful in preparing for the actual exam day. I hope that PPI addresses some of these issues and places more focus on what people can expect to see come exam day, especially the NCEES Handbook. That being said, I was still able to utilize the course and its content to review exam topics and I do feel more prepared for the exam than I did at the beginning.

This course relies heavily on your ability to remember the original material from college. This is merely an overview of the material, going thru this material so fast does little if you don't do additional study and practice. The live classes are not very useful since you cannot really interact other than text with the instructor which is difficult since you are talking about symbols and formulas that are not available in on keyboards. it would be better if voice interaction was available, also if the instructor had technology to allow him/her to draw accurately on screen. Instructor simply reads premade slides and powerpoints. which is useless.

I don't think the instructors were very professional. There were 2 instances where classes were cancelled/postponed with no notice and many times live lectures started up to 20 minutes late. One class only lasted 30 minutes when it was supposed to be 3 hours! The older gentleman that taught the depth portion of the course struggled to switch between slides and different screens and would miss students questions in the chat box. He's probably an excellent professor when given a traditional blackboard to work with. There were also connectivity problems where students couldn't access the live lectures. PPI definitely has some bugs to work out and I think there are more cost effective options for PE exam prep. But it wasn't all bad, the hard copy reference materials provided were excellent, the online quiz generator was extremely useful.
