Powell's did not pay me for the books I sent them for buyback. In fact, once the books were in the mail (using their label) I never heard from them again. I would recommend using one of the other buyback companies. This is not a business Powell's should be in. Had they been more expensive books, I would be furious.

They don't buy used books they steal them . I sent them plenty orders. They make up badcondition excuses claim discard. I.know my stuff was good. They are stealing books. Do not sell to them .they don't really what the quote. They lie about condition so as not to pay. They don't prove just throw. But prob books on shelf for sale.

Well known indie bookchain, now located in the Pacific Northwest. I've never had any difficulties ordering items from the web from them. They were early pioneers of e-commerce, before the 'big gorrila'. Their strength is new and used books, especially academic and scientific publications. This family owned company is a well known collector of used books in North America.

Today saw the funeral of a friend and colleague of mine,who sadly passed a few weeks ago. I attended the funeral as part of WYP in the capacity of friend and colleague. The funeral numbers exceeded in excess of 250 people, with some real sensitivities to manage and get things right for the family. The service was attended by WYP, Chief Constable John Robins and a number of other senior officers as part of his team. Comment was made throughout regarding the WYP guard of honour at the church and the professionalism and etiquette of Melia Powell’s and the fact everything ran so smoothly. The funeral Directors, Merv Pemberton and Dean Newton were exceptional at such a sad time. Thank you for making this a day to remember, for all the right reasons. Your staff are a credit to yourselves at Melia Powell’s. Thank you !!

I ordered a book from Powell's to be sent to Australia and it arrived just about right on time. Reasonably fast delivery and the price on the book was absolutely fantastic! The book I bought here cost only one tenth of what it was advertised on other websites! Great customer service when I sent queries. Used book arrived in really good condition, basically like new, I was very very happy with it. It goes without saying, I highly recommend Powell's! Thank you Powell's 😊

When I tried to find a specific horse training book in my library of equine related books, it wasn't there. Then I remembered loaning it to a friend, but no recollection of which friend still had the book. I listed it on my facebook page asking if anyone had it to return it. I didn't want to pay the new price of $30 for a book I already owned. But no one responded so I started looking on line. Thrift books came up and the book was actually on their site! The exact book I was looking for in like new condition for a great price. It arrived within days of ordering. I could not have been happier. That book is very special to me. Thank you.
