Portland Leather Goods was founded in 2015 when Curtis Matsko began crafting leather goods in his Portland garage with a simple goal: create beautifully simple, high-quality leather bags at a price people could actually afford. What started as a one-man project has grown into a global community of leather lovers, artisans, and repeat customers who believe great design should be accessible.We specialize in simply designed leather bags and accessories, including crossbody bags, tote bags, backpacks, wallets, journals, and everyday carry essentials. Our focus is on clean lines, functional design, and real leather that looks, feels, and smells like leather should.We source our hides from the beef industry, giving materials that would otherwise go to waste a second life. Our leather is tanned in award-winning facilities that prioritize environmentally responsible practices. Because our bags are made from real leather that is not synthetically coated or painted over, natural markings such as spots, grain variation, and occasional scars are part of what makes each piece unique.We own and operate our artisan workshop, The Studio, in León, Mexico, located near two of the most respected tanneries in North America. This close partnership allows us to maintain high standards, reduce environmental impact, and build long-term relationships with the people who make our products.Today, Portland Leather Goods continues to grow through word of mouth and a loyal customer base who appreciate simple design, durable materials, and accessible pricing. I’m OBSESSED with all things PLG
I’m OBSESSED with all things PLG! Their bags are so beautiful and I love the variety of types of leather and all the color options… OH THE COLORS!!!

Perfectly imperfect
The product is exactly what i was looking for and is made well. The imperfect parts are very minute and mostly makes me feel better having not to baby the wallet haha

The very best in beautiful leather goods
I came late to the cool bag world and that makes me sad. I may only have 50+ years left to continue and cultivate my beautiful Portland Leather Goods collection! Just when I'm sure I've found THE bag, I read the reviews and there is a new beauty. PLG has incredible customer service, quick to respond, their website is actually helpful and easy to maneuver. There's no hard sell. There are great prices, savings and deals. A fun rewards plan. For the ones of us that like immediate gratification this is for you! It's easy to get swept away in the love, as I said the colors are GORGEOUS, the bags and littles are functional as well as stylish and fun. Triangle Shoulder bag and the Lola tote crossbody are my current loves, but try not to limit yourself. I've been very surprised and heard from others that bags I thought "don't work for me" are the best. Then there are the mystery boxes. I'm not sure I can handle the surprise, yet they are crazy popular! The PLG community is also amazing. Showing off your pretties, finding new combinations and seeing real feedback. While nothing is perfect PLG is proud of the work they put out, they support their customers and provide a wealth of information about how to care for your purchase.

Portland Leather goods have the best variety of purses for everyone! We constructed and beautiful styles and leather. I haven’t been disappointed with any of my purchases (and there are plenty).

The PLG experience
The PLG, leather handbags and wallets are beautifully Crafted with simple details! The pebble Leather is soft and scrumptious, and the other letters hold their structure beautifully. They have great color choices and styles To meet everyone’s specific needs or wants! I highly recommend Portland Leather goods!

I’m not really a brand person, BUT…
I’m not really a brand person but I adore Portland Leather’s products. The shipping was reasonably fast for a rural recipient and the bag was exactly as I hoped it would be: a beautiful leather tote bag, ready to be stuffed with all my day to day gear. I’ve bought a smaller bag from Portland Leather before and know I’ll get many years’ of use out of this tote bag. Would recommend to anyone, be them family, friends, or strangers.

Portland Leather Goods is sooooo Goooood!!!
I have loved everything from Portland Leather Goods so far! My orders process very quickly and are at my doorstep in a very timely fashion! The products are very high quality and the color selection is fantastic! I have two tote bags, three purses, and quite a few pouches and wallets. They hold up very well to everyday use and they smell so good too!
