I'm glad someone made this.
The app and service in general is quite buggy. But, I appreciate Pinwheel's existence.

Had issues opening Google maps, drive, duo and photos. Chatted with Genn Garcia and she fixed it. She was very helpful and friendly. So far pinwheel feels like it is in beta, especially the caregiver app, but I think it has potential!

I have changed my original review of this product/company. Ethan went above and beyond to assist in making sure I had a replacement phone sent. We are sticking with the phone and service for the time being. Still limited choices for the apps, however I appreciate that my son isnt glued to his phone. Original post: This phone isnt as user friendly as I thought it would be for my 9 year old and the app choices are limited for things that kids are interested in. The phone lasted about 6 months with very little use and wont hold a charge, and I bought the "rugged" version. I contacted customer service and their refund policy is only good for 30 days so they wont replace the phone without charging me another $249. My opinion, not a good policy for a product that is designed with children in mind. Would not recommend.

Hey AZ, thanks for the feedback and I'm sorry about the confusion here on our side! You definitely are still eligible for refunds and exchanges past the 30 days! Please reach out if you haven't already and we can get you sorted and helped out! - Ethan

The chat options was the easiest way to get to the page I needed. A helpful link was provided by an attentive support specialist.

Ed was great and informative. I guess I am just disappointed that we can't utilize the photo printer may daughter received for her birthday, so we have a sad girl. I hope the app gets approved because I feel that it's not harmful, but a fun accessory to her phone.

Great concept to teach kids how to use the phone as a tool. Excellent features to keep the kids safe, approved contacts, apps, no internet, social media. I didn't give it 5 stars since there has been some bugs and issues with the phone that was quick resolved by PinWheel. It's a young system that is going throw growing pains. For the caregiver portal there is no alerts if your child trys to add a contact. Request Apps page is not up today. Most of my annoyance has to do with the back end system not the phone itself.

The support staff has been awesome, personal, and very prompt. While I never found any phone support option, there seemed to always be somebody available for a quick (typically within seconds) and knowledgeable response. The product itself (the Pinwheel platform to regulate and guide your child's use of technology) is still in the earlier stages and is evolving. In the 5 months that we used their platform (if that is the right technological term), there were some frustrations with some of the growing pains associated with any new and growing company. Ultimately, we decided to move away from the platform as we didn't feel that our child needed the amount of restriction required through the platform in it's current state. If that need is there for your child, Pinwheel's platform is great. Would recommend for anybody cautious about guiding their child into a respectful use of technology.

Hi James, If it helps in the future (for any customer), we do have a phone support line with 888.903.7977. However, I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience with Pinwheel despite our company's youth and switching away from the platform! I totally hear you too, sometimes you need less restrictions. We'd always love to hear what you're looking for in a kids phone because we are always aiming for more features and a better user experience for all of our customers, we want to open the controls up more as well!

Was not able to solve the issue, but they did explain why it was unsolvable, and what the issue was. Very fast communication, and very friendly.

Thanks for being so kind about it! Do you mind listing out what the issue was? I think that may help others and give us a chance to indicate how/when we plan to improve it on our way out of beta!!
