I have been playing the guitar for quite some time but was always struggling to memorize pentatonic scales and using them for soloing. Two months ago I joined Pickup Music and started the CAGED learning pathway. The way the lessons are structured and how the connection of the different shapes and scales is shown really is a game changer. Additionally all the instructors (or at least the ones I've seen so far) are so cool and nice (I am such a big fan of Molly!). Everyone is so supportive and you get answers quickly when you pose questions. I am so glad that I found Pickup Music and I'm excited about all the courses to come. I have many years of playing guitar (45+). When I started, I used to try figure out the notes off of an 8-track recording and/or reading piano music. Needless to say, I didn't have much luck. Now that we can access many types of lessons through the computer, it seems there is a glut of information. Of all the recent instructional programs I have tried, Pickup Music is by far the best. I think the combination of different instructors, their willingness to check-in with me and respond to my questions, along with their methodology is a perfect fit for me. As an example, 3 years ago I hear about the CAGED system. I tried off and on to get a handle on it, but it wasn't until I took the CAGED pathway through Pickup Music that I made any real progress. Thank you!

So far, Pickup Music has been the most streamlined and effective guitar teacher I've ever had. I've been playing for 10 years—but with very chaotic learning much most of the time. 1-on-1 lessons with various guitar teachers failed to teach me how to functionally map the fretboard, as the practice and plan lacked structure. I'm one month into the CAGED system pathway and I've already mapped the fretboard better than multiple years of attempting in the past. If Pickup Music had existed when I started, who knows how far along I'd be now. But I'm happy it exists, and at a very low cost.

I never take an online survey for any platform. But I would go tons of words for pickup music here. All I want to say, I would be a lifetime membership if pickup offer me an option. This is enough.

Pickup music is amazing!! I thoroughly appreciate the content, availability of the musicians for direct feedback and overall approach to teaching. Each lesson also has comments from other members learning similar content, which also can be helpful insight to learning.

Pickup has helped me to make more progress in understanding music, guitar, and the fretboard in a couple of months than I have made by trying to piece together many other programs over the past few years.

I love how each Pickup Music learning pathway starts with the fundamentals and builds on them gradually throughout the grades. I love the structure it has brought to my playing and how much I hear what I am learning in actual music. It's very practical and would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn guitar and challenge themselves to keep leveling up.
