Pickup MusicReviews of pickupmusic.com

I recently started learning guitar at the age of nearly 50 during the COVID-19 lockdown in my city. I had tried using other popular guitar learning platforms before but was not satisfied with the results. However, I came across Pickup Music and decided to give it a try. I started with the blues pathway and found the content to be very clear and easy to follow. The step-by-step approach was perfect for a beginner like me, and I appreciated the fun teaching method that encouraged exploration. Although I had to put down the guitar for a while after the lockdown, I recently resumed my guitar journey and chose Pickup Music once again. I must say that I am impressed with the platform and the progress I have made. I highly recommend Pickup Music to anyone who is looking to learn guitar, regardless of their age or experience level. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed!

I've been playing guitar for 21 years. These 21 years I've learned how to read and play tabs, everything has been done by ear aside from that. To me the theory seemed daunting without a teacher, I can solo, but it's an ear solo, not really knowing if my next note will be in key or not. I started pickup music trial and instantly started learning new fun jazz chords, and actually understanding why they sound jazzy. I was hooked. The videos are top notch, the breakdowns are legit and can be taken as slowly, or as quickly as desired. If you want to learn, understand, or elevate your playing, that WILL be done here. Would absolutely recommend to any guitarist at any level.

I am loving every bit of Pickupmusic courses and classes. They make you really progress with your guitar skills, the pathways are well organised and there are many different courses for any style and level. It is great to be a part of the community, especially if you are learning the instrument on your own. You go through playing with backing tracks and improvising, so every bit of theory is wrapped in nice resources to help you making it musical and practice in real-life musical situations. Highly recommend!

Simple and well structured. The bending and vibrato is good knowledge for beginners. It may feel a bit long for intermediate players. I would love to digging more into different styles (such as John Mayer, SRV... and more challenging licks. One downside (together with many other courses on Pickup) is the lack of groove/beat/tempo instruction. Sometimes you dont know where and when to get in.

The CAGED system with Molly has helped me fill in some of the gaps in my knowledge that came with self-teaching. I feel much more confident around the fretboard with a proper road map to work with.

This company has done the unthinkable and streamlined the process of diligent progress. I am eternally grateful to have come across this resource along my musical journey, and I want to thank everyone here at Pickup Music.

Pickup Music is spectacular! It has helped me not only learn new things about the fundamentals of guitar but has actually helped in sharpening the skills I already had. Pickup Music provides SO many different avenues of musical exploration and I find myself constantly experimenting with genres I never thought I would have interest in. It keeps me playing and constantly wanting to learn more :)

Absolutely brilliant - I think by far the best online guitar learning platform. I found the CAGED pathway really helpful, and the songselect songs have some really cool things to learn. The feedback on recordings is often helpful too, and I'm looking forward to the Late Intermediate course too. My guess is that there would be something for everyone here - Definitely worth doing the free trial at least!
