Pickup MusicReviews of pickupmusic.com

The learning Pathway is structured at a pace that is doable and repeatable for review. The online instructors are very good at explaining each lesson and its particulars. Even though you may be at a beginner level you can look ahead at other courses that you have an interest in and join the weekly live lessons. Like swimming, get in over head and stay there. I have progressed tremendously with the pick up team over private and expensive outside lessons without the hassle of having to connect face to face.

The CAGED pathway knows what to teach and when. It is working very well for me. Lessons are such that they stay interesting, fun, and challenging. I believe I will be staying with Pickup Music for a long time. Also the instructors' facial expressions can add some comic relief.

In my opinion, Pickup Music stands out among the many, many online lesson programs out there. Regardless of what style you choose, and there are many, it allows users to follow well-defined, linear learning plans that are similar to an online college/uni course (but you can move at your own speed!). You progress through lessons and levels where what you learned in a previous exercise is applied as you advance to the next. At least for me, it makes much more sense than the 'buffet' approach of so many online guitar programs. The breadth and quality of the videos, backing tracks, feedback/forums, and many, many other resources is very professional and impressive. I subscribe to several other online lesson programs and Pickup Music is, by far, my favourite. I love it!

So the title of this review pretty much says it all. I had purchased an acoustic guitar in January of 2020 and began taking lessons. Then Covid hit and that took care of that. For the next four years I surfed around the internet and tried a couple of online formats that just didn't seem to get me anywhere. I basically just "noodled" for that time. I learned a lot of chords and theory but couldn't really put it into practice. I was on the net and found a Caged System video by one of the Pickup Music instructors and was led to the Pickup Music website where I signed up for the 14 day free trial. I started at the Beginner Learning Pathway and by the time my trial period was up I knew I had found an online format that worked for me. I signed up for the 1 year option and I have made more progress in a little over a month than I had in 4 years of "noodling" I am now over halfway through the Late Beginner Pathway and can't say enough good things about it. The performances submitted are reviewed and you are given great suggestions on how to improve. All this at a fraction of the cost of in person lessons, in the comfort of your own home and at your own pace. AWESOME Michael

I have enjoyed all of the different lessons and how they build on one another. after the lessons, I have especially enjoyed learning the different performances after the lessons. I have also enjoyed watching the performances of other students as that shows me that I am not the only one working and sometimes struggling. I appreciate the responsiveness of all of the Pickup Music staff. They are always very encouraging and respond to questions very quickly.

When I started I got a basic guitar playing. For me, it has been very useful as I learned new chords, sounds, and rhythm...it is completing my beginner learning process!

I started the Jazz Pathways and it's great I've been in this community for a few years and they were always excellent and really sweet to me

Loads of Lessons. Learning pathway's structures are perfect for daily learning. Improvements are felt quickly. Every exercices or licks are well described and explained in their videos. Sheet music and Tabs. You also get Real Feedbacks from different teachers. And so on.. It feels good to go back on track with the help of others, and specially for self-taught musicians!
