After all the online jazz materials that i have got into just to learn the genre of jazz I never really understood its concepts. Until I finally subscribed to pickup last October 2024 and took its Jazz learning pathway and honestly I learned a lot which I am thankful for. I just have one suggestion though and that if it is possible for you guys to make a harmonic minor masterclass similar to the 7 day melodic minor masterclass with Sam, I just think this way it would make some of the pathway’s material make more sense like some of the scales presented such as the phyrigian dominant which is a mode of the harmonic minor. Thanks

It has been a challenging experience, but I can see progress. Maybe I don't do everything 100%, but I already know what things I need to keep working on.

I've always had a general idea of what CAGED is but never got much past the idea of it being different ways to play barre chords. I didn't see the value—why would I want to play that awkward G shaped chord anywhere but in the open position? The CAGED I course on Pickup helped me see the light. It really showed me how I could use CAGED to better understand the fretboard and chords, using those shapes not just to find different ways to play the same old chords, but to expand my range and my understanding of how music is made on the guitar. Molly Miller explains it so clearly and makes everything that used to just be theory to me actually practical.

After playing guitar for several years using both online videos and an in person instructor I stumbled upon Pickup Music. After using the trial I decided this was what I needed. There's a lot of content, the pace is right and it's a fun way of learning. The main reason I enjoy it so much is the fact that you can follow structured learning pathways. The pathways make sure you build up enough foundation/skills to move on to the next one. It's also great to see that Pickup Music continuously strive to improve the platform. Questions by users are replied to, user remarks about the content or maybe a little mistake in a tab are responded to and corrected. At Pickup they take user feedback seriously and act upon it in a great way. They also involve a sense of humor in the lessons wich keeps it fun. I'm sure i'll stick around since there is plenty for me to learn. I would definitely recommend giving Pickup Music a try!

I'm self taught, so I've been taking other guitar learning courses from various YouTubers which was great and all, but they all lacked structure. Sure, the information was great, but it was scattered everywhere having for me to piece it all together. Pickup music was the opposite. Within my first 2 weeks I evaluated my own playing and realized I wasn't as far along as I thought I was. I relied on them to help me forward with my playing and within the first month I was amazed! The teams they have are all incredible! The notation team does a great job syncing the videos with tablature, the teachers themselves are stylish and charismatic, and play very well, and the community service is Incredible! I have not scrolled past a comment that hasn't been answered by their team, they reply super quick and don't have you waiting 2-3 weeks like the other services I've tried. I really appreciate the effort and professionalism everyone has put into Pickup Music. There is SO MUCH material available. I've been practicing an hour each day for the past 3 months with Pickup Music and there is still TONS of content to get into. And they're always working on more! They're always working on making/remaking certain courses based on community feedback to help better the experience for everyone. Pickup Music has made me genuinely excited to wake up every day to play guitar, and I couldn't recommend them enough!

The jams and performances made the difference. The lessons were great and thorough but the jams and performances held me accountable and made practicing fun. I've always heard that playing with someone else helps you improve, and it surely did. I finally find myself ascending the mountain after years on a plateau.

I am finally learning how to play my guitar. After years of learning to play different songs and then quickly forgetting how to play them, I've embarked on actual learning how to play and understand. These courses are a great way to learn and the pace and information is well presented.

Really great course with a very clear structure and layout. Perfect for guitarists at all stages.
