To address your specific claim concerns, we will need to work with you directly for privacy reasons. However, an explanation of general insurance operations may help address a few of your questions. Our Dental policies do not restrict customers to a network. However, we highly recommend network providers to be considered and used as customers realize an average savings of 36% in the billed amount when doing so. This limits your out of pocket expenses. However, Physicians Mutual pays up to the amount shown in the schedule of benefits whether you choose a network provider or not. If you feel we have made a mistake on the processing of a claim or have other questions, please call us.

We are sorry to hear you plan on canceling your dental coverage with Physicians Mutual. Although we are not able to provide specifics in this response for privacy reasons, here is some general feedback that pertains to all dental coverage: • If a payment is declined by a financial institution notification is mailed and a bill is sent. • If a payment was missed or returned and the premium is past due, no premium payment is necessary if you are canceling the coverage. Coverage would simply stop once the policy lapses. • To cancel the coverage, a signed statement is required. Otherwise, the policy will lapse when payments aren’t received. Thank you for your feedback. We would suggest a telephone call as there seems to be some confusion about your dental coverage as you mentioned paying “your deductible”. Fortunately, Physicians Mutual dental policies do not have a deductible. Also, we will gladly share explanation of claim benefits in writing. However, email is not secure so we would need to send correspondence via the postal service or provide it electronically through your secure online account. To optimize the value of policy benefits, please call one of our service experts. We can summarize the benefits available, share how to get free pretreatment estimates to eliminate any billing surprises, etc. We look forward to assisting you. Thank you for the follow up.
