I have been taking my dog to Petsmart for grooming for the past 10 years, ever since she was a puppy. Recently, she developed a medical condition which required a visit to the vet. Thankfully, she has since recovered. I made my appointment and arrived on time. I fully disclosed the condition and was informed that they would NOT be able to provide the grooming service, cut, bath and nail trim. They provided no information as to an alternative salon or made any other recommendations. Also was told that once a dog reaches 10 years of age, they would no longer be able to provide grooming services. Petsmart is NOT the most cost effective option for grooming. I didn't fully realize how much money over 10 years I have paid Petsmart until now. My pup is groomed approx. every 5 weeks, that's 10 times per year, over 10 years at $100. each visit, $10,000. really? And we just got kicked to the curb! Look around before you decide on having your pet groomed at Petsmart.

Let me start by saying Ashley T is an amazing groomer. My dog has been going to her for about a year and he loves her. However, the reason for this 0 start review is for there unprofessional employee John. I’m not sure of his last name, but he was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I called to get a ETA on my dog. He answers the phone talking to the people in his background, instead of asking me to hold on. Then he continues his conversation as if I’m not on the phone. So I then repeat my self a little louder due to the loud background . He says “ you don’t have to yell”. I replied “I’m not as your background is too loud”. He then says “yea iight” as if we were people talking on the street. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.. he needs more training on how to properly answer the phone. Location: Buckhead, GA

Reston VA PetSmart Pet Hotel also awful and rip off. Took a big trip so we thought 24 hr care better. But they called us nearly every day with problems. Incompetent. Dogs miserable- lost weight and sick during visit and then they took them to vet and charge vet bills! It’s their “protocol” to take dog to vet with problems. Ironically our dogs also enrolled in Banfield wellness plan and seen by vet one week before trip- given clean bill of health! I think vet trips just way to increase fees. Over 1100$ for 10 days AFTER we complained and they reduced the price. Ridiculous. Rover.com- a dog sitter is a much better option and kind to your dogs. And half the price! What a nightmare and the poor miserable dogs are now following us around like they’ve been abused. This place should lose it’s license.

PetSmart is one of the most atrocious places to buy live animals. They buy animals wholesale from places that treat their animals terribly. Many die before being purchased and even more die in transit and after arriving to the store. Animals are overcrowded and many of them are denied help when they are sick or injured. Do not buy pets or any pet supplies from Petsmart. Do your research and buy pets from your local pet stores that you know treat the animals with care. Order your supplies from online services or from retail stores like Walmart. My betta fish, Gabriel, developed an illness from being kept in the filthy plastic cup they displayed him in. He died not even a month after I bought him, despite my experience and my best efforts to help him. They do not clean tanks or cages or display. When pets get hurt or sick they are taken to the back away from customers. If you love animals, then don't support this business.

When I dropped off my pup (40 lb 4 year old mix) I advised that she doesn't like her feet touched or the dryer so please use a muzzle. When I picked her up she was still wet and her nails hadn't been trimmed and her hair cut between her toes. When I asked about it they snickered and said they "don't agree with using muzzles". So, I paid $50 to pick up a wet, still smelly dog who wasn't even BRUSHED. Pathetic service. I will not use PetsMart for ANYTHING anymore let alone grooming.

I got my dog groomed the 100$ treatment for shedding when we got her back she shedded more then when we took her petting her this morring found big knots under her neck she is backward an 14 years old so I feel so bad putting her thru this please think twice before using this place then run

Went to PetSmart for prescription Hills Science Diet a/c urgent care wet 5 oz can.PetSmart was nice, called ahead since 40 mile drive and they held it for me. Banfield Vet inside the store is not. I needed some syringes for feeding my serious I'll cat every two hours.i was told that they could not sell me a syringe for food feeding since I was not a client. They were more interested in #@$$ money than helping saving pets lives.I informed a PetSmart manager about this. Please boycott Banfield .Vet.

Terrible ripoff! I booked a full service for my 9 month old dog. They refused to give her anything more than a bath and trim, even though she had been groomed numerous times previously (although at a different groomer). When I picked her up after 3 hours, she was locked up in the back barking her head off. Apart from a couple of bows in her hair, virtually nothing was done. Not even trimmed around her face or nails trimmed. Complete waste of $80. And now I have to take her to another groomer asap for a proper groom.
