I like it but...
I am a tropical aquarist, and fish are my life! I buy nearly all of my supplies from PetSmart, and I love it. The selection is great, and the fish are beautiful. However, the woman working at the fish wall told me she was giving me 2 male mollies. However, one turned out to be a girl and now I have 2 babies! Luckily, I can take 2 babies in right now, but this could have been really bad.

Earned TREAT credit goes POOF
If you use your earned TREAT credit at Petsmart to buy something, and you RETURN/Exchange the item you used the Treat credit on, you can kiss the $ 5 credit goodbye? It does not go back onto your account, even though you obviously earned it by accumulating points over time. That is Petsmart's policy. Cheapskates.

Dogs being “groomed.”
“The topcoat is made up of tougher guard hairs that don’t shed, and protect your pet from the sun’s harmful rays and bug bites. It actually insulates them from the heat. What this means is: do not shave your double coated dog. It’s a mistake to think you’re helping your animal stay cool, particularly in summer, when evolution has provided them exactly what they need to survive. By stripping them of their natural ability to heat and cool themselves, you could be doing more harm than good.”
-article
I don’t believe in evolution, but, I cannot stand lazy people that get double coated dogs and take them places like this to be shaved down. They get no say so in their beautiful coat, and I personally think it’s cruel. If they were real groomers in that sense they wouldn’t shave a dog for somebody unless it was medical reason. A real groomer would know you’re never supposed to shave a double coated dog. Instead, they make it popular. It disgusts me every time I see it.

I am happy PetSmart carries grain free…
I am happy PetSmart carries grain free food, however, I wish they would remove some products from their shelves that have been proven to contain propylene glycol and other unhealthy substances.
Let's not forget there has been a $2B lawsuits that proved that Glyphosate is carcinogenic. Many animal foods are not required to test for this product. Glyphosate is in RoundUp a popular herbicide.

Great Store if You Want to Pay Twice as Much
So, Pet Smart has the better foods and hard to find products, even I can't find something in any other physical store, thet have it. Their stores are clean and employees are usually very friendly and eager to help you.
BUT....THE PRICES are ridiculous, I can find the exact same stuff almost anywhere else and it's cheaper. For instance, a Chuckit Kick Fetch Ball at PetSmart is $29.00, elsewhere I've seen it for $16.99 for the exact same product, it's like this with everything there. I know different stores will always have varying prices but PetSmart is ALWAYS the highest. $23.00 for a Nylabone that I can get for $14.00, the list is endless. It's a shame, they have good stuff and if you can afford it go for it, I just don't see the point in paying twice as much for an item. If I'm in a pinch, I will go there but otherwise I'll save my money.
You have some great competition online PetSmart, we love our pets and are willing to pay a little more in store but this is just excessive.

Adequate care
They've changed the rules for caring for store pets and have limited the diet of pets they sell. Not good or healthy for them.
