It really helps students in the graduate level because there are is much information out there that needs to be cited and cross referenced. It makes it that much more easier.

PERRLA is amazing!
PERRLA helps you find your sources, properly cite them, correctly make your reference or bibliography page, and get your spell check and grammar check done as you go. You can also do another check at the end when you click I'm Finished, and PERRLA will give you ideas to clean up your work. It sets up your Research papers, Discussion posts, and several other things, so you know they are correctly formatted.

Using copy and paste into PERRLA is not…
Using copy and paste into PERRLA is not user friendly. There are multiple formatting errors that takes hours to fix if you're even able. Forget adding a table, it's impossible. I am so frustrated with it that I am ready to quit to app altogether

Lana, I'm sorry. That's a miserable way to spend time you don't have, and it isn't the experience we want you to have with PERRLA.
You're right about pasting, and it's a fair complaint. PERRLA brings pasted text in the way it arrives and leaves the cleanup to you, so text out of a browser or another document can land carrying formatting you then have to fight. I've passed your note to our team.
For tables, there's a much faster path than pasting one in. In PERRLA's menu, click Insert Table, enter your title and how many rows and columns you need, and PERRLA builds the table, formats it, and numbers it for you. You then edit the contents, title, and notes right in your paper.

PERRLA to the Rescue-mostly
Overall, great formatting; the title page and references are organized and professional. I love the grammar suggestions too.
However, it is often incorrect in its punctuation, as it does not add a period after in-text citations. Also, it cannot figure out how to write an APA citation for one of my reference books.

Thank you for this, and for taking the time to be specific. I'm glad the title page, references, and grammar suggestions are earning their keep.
You're right about the period, and it's a fair ask – PERRLA places the citation but leaves the sentence's closing punctuation to you. I've passed it to our team.
In the meantime, the "I'm Finished" check will catch any citation that ended up on the wrong side of a period and move it for you in one click. This is a fairly new feature just this semester.
And if you send that reference book over to our Customer Support team, we'll work out the correct APA format for it. Happy writing!

It is almost amazing
My major gripe with PERRLA is how much space the Ribbon takes up in a browser, with the browser and ribbon the actual space I am writing in only takes up like 30% of my screens real estate, I typically have to fullscreen the window(F11) or zoom out using my browser. If there was a way to minimize the ribbon or make it smaller PERRLA would be a 5/5.
Been using it since 2023 as I have been getting my BS and it has rarely steered me wrong, I use Linux so having an editor that can easily be used in a browser and export as .docx files is amazing.

Hey Liam – Heard loud & clear! We are actually working on an update to the Editor layout to address this exact challenge. The ribbon is a critical part of the UI, but it shouldn't be displacing the main focus (the paper). Stay tuned because we've got a big update that will be rolling out to Beta features later this semester.

My wife and I started using it in 2012, when she began her BSN, and I began my DBA. We graduated, and I went on to be a professor with a doctorate at two universities. I currently use it for my research projects. This product is a game-changer with its overall paper and reference management. I highly recommend this product and refer my students.

Works great unless you are locked out…
Works great unless you are locked out of Perrla. Then even though you are paying for the service you will not be able to use the product! I have been locked out of the service for nearly a year. Perrla made a change to the system and I have been locked out since that event. The last year has been a waste of money.
