Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, Herbert, and thanks for your openness in talking with me in the following days/week about the record you expected to see. As we've already discussed, I also looked directly at the county records site, but was unable to find a reportable criminal record, only a civil case and a criminal record that was voided and thus can't be reported. With the information we have today we don't see any discrepancy between the country records site and what we're allowed to report under federal law, but I'm always happy to deep dive individual questions like this and happy to continue exploring this one if you wish! In case it's comforting to know, I only had your information because you shared your contact information with us in the first stage of your account registration. As discussed during our phone conversation, we're bound by federal law (the Fair Credit Reporting Act) and thus can't access any data without the subject's written consent. As you were looking to complete a check without the subject's consent, I hope the advice I shared about consumer-grade background check companies that aren't required to comply with the FCRA was helpful for your needs.
