More transparent rules needed for sitters
To follow up a conversation in my other review [content: I had one and only attempt to ask client to pay me outside of Pawshake. This is due to technical constraint that my account got prior to that date leading to previous clients cannot book me, though I agree that this is indeed a violation. Pawshake then has multiple responses toward this ONE incident (i) sent a warning letter; (ii) block my account; (iii) ask me to acknowledge their email to unblock me (I did); (iv) ask me to payback the money Pawshake lost - they didn’t, the client booked through Pawshake; and (v) ghosting me. This is the summary of all responses Pawshake sent me the past few week for ONE CASE. ] Thank you Jack for response to my previous email explaining how we should not bypass Pawshake platform. However, it is still not clear then which is the penalty for first attempt? I could understand that If I keep doing it then you increase the level of scrutiny, fair. But mind you this is the same case - which I believe your colleague didn’t even read my explanation but sending me template responses. Therefore, it is important to note, what is the CORRECT RESPONSE for first violation? Is it -forever blocking account-? I doubt it because I obviously receive a warning email that say don’t do it again, and so far I haven’t had any new booking. but if you want to make my account “inactive” forever, then let me know. Because then I can create accounts on other apps and receive clients there WITHOUT VIOLATING Pawshake Terms & Conditions.

Hi Nancy & Srujan Dang, We are a little confused by your review, as your account was reinstated after the previous incident. To clarify for all users: bypassing the Pawshake platform to take payments offline is strictly prohibited, and this is made very clear at sign-up. The official penalty for this breach is account suspension. In your case, the suspension was a result of attempting to circumvent the platform’s protections and financial obligations. We also want to note that leaving a 1-star review in this context is a bit of an own goal, as it highlights the very reason your actions were problematic. Attempting to sidestep your financial obligations undermines trust with both Pawshake and owners. Publicly posting this review may make owners question reliability, which can negatively affect the business opportunities you receive. We encourage all sitters to follow our Terms of Use carefully, as this ensures trust and transparency with owners and protects both parties. — Pawshake Support
