Terrible app and protection for sitters
I've has long standing issues with Pawshake as a sitter, but unfortunately, my most recent problem is still unresolved nearly a month down the line. I sat for a lovely dog who came to me with fleas. This dog ended up being in my care for much longer than booked for due to an irresponsible owner. I was in communication with Pawshake throughout the duration, voicing my concerns. I had to de flea my home and cancel bookings. I am owed £30 reimbursement for flea treatment and the cost of half a day's sit. I also had to cancel another booking so am out of pocket for that, too. This is due to a very irresponsible pet owner. However, under the "Pawshake Gaurentee" sitters are supposed to be covered. This is not the case. It actually cost me to take this most recent booking with them! The pawshake customer service is not fit for purpose and raising am issue seems pointless. The communication is poor and they leave you waiting days in between responses. Owners seem adequately covered. Sitters don't get the same protection from pets owners who quite frankly take advantage of you. The Rover app is far better in my experience.

Hi Charlotte, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We ask all hosts to familiarise themselves with our terms and conditions so that they understand our coverage and exceptions. These conditions are always to be found in our Help Centre. Unfortunately, Pawshake does not cover flea treatment on guest pets. It’s a good idea to discuss issues such as fleas at the Meet & Greet as part of your onboarding procedure. This way expectations can be clearly established beforehand, and the pet owner knows to check their pet for fleas prior to the booking. Pawshake has suspended the pet owners account for refusing to cooperate or discuss this with you. We’re really sorry you had this experience! Kind Regards Jack Pawshake Support
