Puppies are coning from puppy mills....…
About 1 year ago I purchased a chihuahua through pawrade. Before she was shipped to us we recieved a phone call about her. We were informed she had an open fontanelle. We were asked to sign papers saying we were aware of the condition and that we accepted the condition as well as accepting any future problems. I have another chihuahua with an open fontanelle and I have never had problems with him. So naively I said ok to signing the form as I had no idea it could affect her. When we first got her she was like a normal puppy until about 3 months of age where she started acting out. She began staying up all night long crying, pacing, pawing at us and her head shakes rapidly back and forth. We took her to our vet to be checked out. We then got sent to a Neurologist 3 1/2 hours away. At her appt. she had an MRI done of her brain because the Dr. feared she had water on her brain (hydrocephalus). We paid $4300.00 to find out indeed she has hydrocephalus. It's been 9 months now and we have tried several medications all of them have been unsuccessful. We take turns sleeping and staying awake taking care of her and it's quite miserable. We don't know how long we have with her though so we have to give her the best life. I am very upset with Pawrade they aren't very compassionate for one and there not willing to give me any sort of compensation stating I signed this form. I truly believe my puppy came from a puppy mill and that's how Pawrade runs there business. Not only does my puppy have hydrocephalus she came to us very sick. She had a cough and diarrhea. We took her to the vet and found out she had canine covid and giardia. Both were very difficult to resolve. So, my advice is to find a private breeder and do your research. Pawrade sells lees then adequate pets and shouldn't be allowed to sell them at all.

Tira, we are sorry to hear that your pup has hydrocephalus. Unfortunately, this condition is very common in the breed (Chihuahua) of your pup. This condition is considered breed specific for your pup. For many breeds there are specific conditions that are so common that it can not be guaranteed. We are very transparent about issues like this and it is clearly covered in your Reservation Agreement. All of our breeders are fully licensed and inspected by the USDA and local authorities as well whenever applicable. We never associate with any breeder that could in any way be considered a "puppy mill".
