This has been a horrible experience all the way around. After cancelling service I have been charged twice more. After contacting I was refunded 17.00 of the 19.00 that they charged to the closed account. it is difficult to contact anyone from the company. I tried this thru the Walmart+ program and I will be contacting Walmart to advise them against working with this scam company.

We're sorry for the confusion. Often charges continue when one service is cancelled but not another. Our Emergency Protection is an insurance product, so earned premiums can't be refunded. However, please email [email protected] with your account details if you haven't yet so we can review your specific case and ensure everything is properly cancelled.

Slow and frustrating
They’re taking forever to process my claim. I followed the policy to a T. The app says 5-7 business days to review a claim. I’m on day 7 today and they said 10-15 days. Nowhere does it state 10-15 days. I think this is a scam.

Horrible Scam?!
Date submitted claim to PAWP:
11/21/2025. Via their mobile app per their instructions. Mobile app claims I should hear back in 5 to 7 business days.
Amount of money I have paid to PAWP:
I have had a paid membership for 5 years with PAWP. My monthly membership fee initially $19.00 per month and was increased to $24.00 per month sometime in the last year or so. I estimated what I have paid to PAWP over the past 5 years is around $1,200 dollars.
What the business committed to provide to me:
Provide emergency protection. My emergency fund reimburses me up to $3,000 for one unexpected life-threatening emergency per year to any pet added to my account. My dog, Sophie, was an added pet.
What the nature of the dispute is:
I believe PAWP is acting in bad faith and giving me excuse after excuse. I filed my claim on 11/21/2025, was told I would hear back in 5 to 7 business days. Today is 1/19/2026. I have sent them several follow-up messages asking for the status of my claim, with their only response being my claim is being reviewed. I am not even sure the response I am receiving is from a human; their responses look like AI responses and are not indicative of a message from a human person. Also, there is no phone number to call, as I have asked them to call me, or me to call them, with no response. The only way to contact them during this frustrating period seems to be the app and seems to be canned and/or AI responses.
My claim ID is PAWP002691 and requested amount is $2,667.46. My dog was extremely sick, in and out of the emergency vets’ offices, and subsequently died within the 3-day period. It was completely unexpected, and all emergency documentation was sent with my claim.
Whether or not the business has tried to resolve the problem:
No, they have not. They have not even tried. Besides getting AI Bot responses, it is well past the 5 to 7 business days for a claim review. This company has extremely poor communication avenues and I do not feel customers should be treated this way.

My dog was seen in the ER on 11/6 and I submitted my claim on 11/12. The claim was not approved until 12/15!!! It states on the app that claims are to be approved between 2 and 5 days. And their worthless AI bots could never provide an update aside from a boilerplate cut and paste wE ArE bUsY.
Then the money was not deposited until 1/10!!! Absolutely ridiculous. It is only supposed to take 2 to 5 days to deposit the money!! Virtually no customer service and there is no phone number to contact them. They rely on AI and from
Other reviews I can tell this company sucks at everything.

Claims take forever (still waiting after 3 months for my one claim submitted) and out of 3 pet insurances I've used, I never needed to provide additional documents aside from an itemized invoice. This is the only one that did.... Avoid at all costs.

Emergency Pet Insurance That Fails in Real Emergencies
I had the worst service experience I have ever had with any company. Pawp caused months of stress and wasted time. I signed up because the Emergency Protection policy sounded like it would help if my cat had a life threatening problem. My cat almost collapsed at the vet after severe vomiting from a thyroid storm or seizure. Her thyroid levels were the highest the vet had ever seen. I submitted my claim on September 7 after the emergency visit on September 3. I expected fast help because that is how Pawp advertises this service. Instead I entered a long cycle of delays, silence, and excuses.
I waited fourteen days for the first response. I had to wait the same amount of time again after resubmitting paperwork. I was told more than once that I would hear back within one business day. No one followed through. My emails went unanswered for days or weeks. When someone did reply, it was the same message repeating that there was high volume and a backlog. No one contacted me with an update unless I asked again. I had to push every time.
My vet clinic said the doctor was ready to speak with Pawp and explain the severity of the situation. I sent Pawp the clinic phone number, the email, and the statement from the staff. I asked several times for them to call my vet. I was worried they would avoid calling and then claim they could not approve anything because they did not have more information. At this point it felt like a delay tactic to pull another monthly fee from me without doing anything.
The pattern of delays shows a company that is not prepared to handle claims. If claim volume rises, a company should hire enough staff to keep up. It is simple business. Customers should not pay while waiting through long periods of silence and repeated excuses.
I kept being told the claims administrator needed more time. Then I was told the appeal could take up to thirty business days, even though I had already been waiting weeks. There was no urgency. There was no concern that this involved a life threatening issue or that I was out the money. It was only five hundred dollars, which is one sixth of what they claim they are willing to pay. They refused to take even basic steps to move the claim forward.
By December 10, 2025, I still had no update. I had no decision. I had no confirmation that they ever called my vet. I had no progress at all. I canceled my membership because it was clear the service does not work as advertised. I paid for months and got nothing in return.
My experience shows that this company cannot handle emergency claims. They do not communicate. They do not meet their own timelines. They do not take the actions they promise. They do not follow through on simple steps like calling a vet.
This is company is little more than a website, an app, and an automated contact form. I would not trust them with any pet, any money, or any urgent situation. I strongly recommend avoiding this company.

We're sorry to hear about your experience, and we hope your cat is doing better. We take every claim seriously, and we understand how stressful it can be when your pet is facing a health emergency.
We want to acknowledge that the claims process did not meet your expectations or our own standards in this case. We are actively working to improve our response times and communication so that no pet parent feels left in the dark during such a difficult time.
Your feedback helps us improve, and we are grateful you took the time to share it.

I filed a claim for my pet over a month ago. The web site states that they respond within 7-10 days. It has been over a month, and they will not respond to my emails.
