I hate to do this. I have always been happy with the doctors and techs. They are very helpful. My problem has been since Walmart took over. I have Walmart plus. This was supposed to give the subscribers access to PAWP saving the annual expense. I have not been able to access PAWP without paying the money Walmart says I shouldn’t. My communications with PAWP’s support group goes so far then nothing from them. They asked me to send them screenshots of reactions from Walmart. Then silence. My last communion was one week ago. This started 42 weeks ago.

That's a frustrating situation, and we are sorry you haven't been able to enjoy the service for so long. The medical team you've relied on hasn't changed, and we don't want an access issue to get in the way of that. Please reach out to [email protected] directly so we can dig into this and get it sorted.

Not sure what the point of the service…
Not sure what the point of the service is if I can’t get a prescription for a uti. All I got was the same exact conversation I had with chat gpt. Telling me to go to the vet isn’t making this service very purposeful at all.
Response from PawpApr 23, 2026
That's a fair frustration, and we don't want you walking away feeling like this wasn't worth your time. UTIs do require urinalysis for identify the best next steps and the safety of your pet. We know that's not the answer you were hoping for. Reach out to [email protected] and we'd love to find a way to make this more useful for you.

Unsatisfied customer of Pawp. Avoid site.
Tried to explain to virtual Pawp vet what has been happening to my dogs ears in the past. Simple ear infection. Vet would not listen and actually got into an argument with me in front of my son. Was told i could have a prescription for Simperica Trio and never received it. Vet told me to put a cone on dogs head so she wouldnt scratch her ears. Asked for a refund and was told they dont give refunds. They didnt even bother to ask why i was unsatisfied. Very bad site. Ripoff.
Pawp has taken the time to get ahold of me and assures me that they will make things right. iIwill keep everyone posted as to their actions as i dont want to give a dishonest review.

That's not the experience we ever want anyone to have, and we're sorry this visit felt frustrating. Veterinarians on Pawp work within the boundaries of telemedicine to recommend what's safest for your dog. Please reach out to [email protected] so we can look into what happened and make it right.

I had an “appointment” with a vet who…can’t give medicine to animals…
I had an “appointment” with a vet who told me nothing. Now I’m waiting for a second “appointment” with another vet to receive a necessary medication, but go figure, there are no available appointments in my area despite it being a remote care platform. So what is supposed to supplement my in-person vet is honestly useless because I’m going to have to wait until Tuesday to see my in-person vet because I can’t get the medication that’s necessary for my urgent pet condition!
Response from PawpApr 12, 2026
That sounds genuinely frustrating, and we're sorry the experience left you without answers when you needed them most. The geographic limitations on prescribing are tied to applicable rules and regulations we strictly enforce, and for urgent conditions, in-person care is what we always recommend, since we can't guarantee local pharmacies have the medication in stock for same-day filling. Your in-person vet on Tuesday is the right path here. If you have questions in the meantime, you can reach us at [email protected].

WARNING: Emergency Claims Denied – Misleading Coverage & No Accountability
I strongly caution any consumer considering Pawp. My experience raises serious concerns about how emergency claims are handled and whether the coverage advertised is actually honored when it matters most.
On March 23, 2026, my service dog suffered a sudden, acute medical emergency involving labored breathing, severe pain, and visible distress. She was rushed to an emergency veterinary hospital, where a full diagnostic workup confirmed this was a new-onset condition, unrelated to any prior diagnoses, and required immediate care. Despite this, Pawp (through their claims administrator Golden State Adjusters) denied the claim and upheld the denial on appeal.
What is especially alarming is how the denial was handled. Instead of relying on the actual treating veterinarian, who confirmed this was a true emergency, the claim was rejected based on retrospective file review. The veterinary team even made themselves available to verify the emergency directly, yet there was no meaningful engagement. To make matters worse, Pawp has ignored my formal request for dispute resolution under their own Terms and Conditions, which they require before arbitration.
Consumers should also be aware of a pattern: when you raise concerns publicly, you will likely receive a generic, scripted response directing you to email “Support”—however, in my experience, that channel is unresponsive and does not meaningfully address or resolve the issue, leaving you stuck in a loop with no real escalation path.
I incurred $1,679.50 out-of-pocket for emergency care that, by any reasonable standard, qualifies as an emergency. If your pet has a real crisis, you need to ask yourself: will this company actually cover it—or deny it after the fact?
Consumers should be aware of:
• Denials based on after-the-fact review instead of real-time medical judgment
• Failure to engage treating veterinarians
• Ignoring their own dispute resolution obligations
• Scripted responses with no meaningful follow-through
• Potential gaps between advertised coverage and actual claim outcomes
I have now as a result escalated this matter to insurance regulators, California and New York Attorney Generals, and media consumer investigators. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Pawp and urge others to proceed with extreme caution !

Really Less than 1 Star
If I could give less than a star, I would. I haven't been able to get past adding my dog's breed for over a week. If this is the level of efficiency this app is going to have, I can do without.

I would leave zero stars if I was able…
I would leave zero stars if I was able to. My dog was seen and prescribed antibiotics. I always fill her antibiotics at Walmart. There was an issue with the milligrams. I had to contact Pawp numerous times to have them fix the situation and have it sent to the correct pharmacy. They decided to send prescription without fixing the issue to a different pharmacy that I never requested and then they told me that I chose that pharmacy. I however, did not choose that pharmacy. I looked into the pharmacy because they were not sending to the one that I requested three times. It took a week for my dog to get her medication and in that week, my dog started to decline and get worse. There is nobody you can speak to except through email and it takes days to get things resolved. As a matter of fact, I had to tell them I would leave a bad review and dispute my charges if my medication for my dog did not come through that is when I finally got the medication sent. I also got a message back quicker than any other message saying to refrain from threats because I said I was going to leave a review and dispute charges If this was not taken care of. Per my last email with them I informed them that there was absolutely not a threat and as promised here is my review, we should get our money back. Nothing was done for my dog, except for make her worse. I would not recommend this service to my worst enemy.

Thank you for your feedback. Our doctors always prioritize what is best for each pet's health. If an initial treatment isn't effective, they may recommend an alternative that could differ in dosage or cost to ensure the pet gets the care they need. We understand the pharmacy experience was frustrating, thanks for letting us know, we will work on improving it. However, we also want to note that our team works hard to help every pet parent, and we don't condone bullying or threats toward our staff or company. If you have any further concerns, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Fraudulent company
Fraudulent company, stay away! My cat died and I canceled my membership right away, receiving confirmation that it had been canceled. They continued to charge me for months afterward and it only stopped when I wrote to customer service. Even then, they flat out refused to issue a refund.
EDIT: the below response from PAWP is an absolute joke - I resubmitted everything they asked for below to the support email they provided below. It has been two weeks and I have gotten ZERO RESPONSE
Response from PawpFeb 4, 2026
We're deeply sorry for the loss of your cat and for the billing issues that followed. Please email [email protected] with your cancellation confirmation and billing details so we can investigate and work to resolve this, including reviewing the refund situation. We're committed to making this right.
