Thanks to Pathrise, I got a job in the Bay Area that I was dreaming about. As an international student, a new-grad without a lot of work experience, looking for a job during pandemic times was not an easy thing. Pathrise helped me to prepare for technical interviews (not only the coding part, but explaining the logic while doing an exercise and communicating it correctly - which is crucial); my mentor helped to polish and perfect my pitch and walked me step by step to prepare for behavioral interviews. Thank you! I wouldn’t get my new job without your help.

I signed up for pathrise because I was stuck in my job search and intrigued at the concept. When I got on the call the other person was first off late, and had a really lackadaisical attitude towards me and my career. Let me list the red flags; 1.) Was late to the meeting, looked like she just woke up. 2.) Could not articulate any qualifications on experience hiring marketing people, she was 24. I am 32 mid-level management. 3.) Kept talking about the promises after I signed the program but couldn't show me anything up front. I could have just been matched with a bad mentor and I think in short, a program like this just purely from the accountability and motivational aspect could help, but that the pay of 10% PRETAX salary is outrageous. If I was younger and less experienced I feel like I might be desperate enough to do something like this but the truth is there are alternatives if you need career coaching.

The program is excellent. They cover each and every topic. The lectures are interactive. Mock interviews really helped in reducing nervousness in the actual interviews.

This program provides you with all you need to get a software engineering position. You can get as many one-on-one mock interview sessions as you'd like. There are so many resources available to you, from your assigned career and technical mentors to compiled data on past interviews by previous fellows. In the end, you'd only need to pay 9% of your first-year's income (in the first 6 months of employment). It was totally worth it as a new grad with not a clear idea of how to prepare for company interviews. If you are in the same boat, this program might just be thing that would help you land your first job.

The best way to think of Pathrise is as a college course. You could coast through it doing the bare minimum, but then your results won't be as great (i.e. it will take you longer to get a job). It is also your responsibility to work even harder on your weak points. Pathrise has experts for every stage of the job application process, so at the end of the day you are most definitely getting your money's worth, especially considering what you learn from Pathrise will help you in every future job search (without having to go back to them again). I initially had my own reservations about joining as it did seem like a scheme of some sort. But as soon as I had their help on my resume I was getting more emails back. You may or may not get as immediate results, but as long as you put in the work you Will get results. I wish you the best of luck in your job search!

If you decide to use Pathrise, ask for help from the mentors. I was only able to receive a job offer in marketing because I finally asked for interview prep with Polina. Just setting up the appointment to get additional guidance will spare you hours from research (randomly looking up YouTube videos and blog posts) and help you get to the job offer faster. Whatever you believe that you are lacking (resume, cover letter, portfolio setup, deciding which job posts to pick, what company do I want to work for) Pathrise is here to help. You have to put in the work, do what the advisors recommend, and for job searching it will take iterations (tries) to achieve success. "Failure is an option here. If things are not failing, you are not innovating." Elon Musk. If you want a change in career, you have to innovate your approach to acquiring a new job. (I know this is a cliche) The world (especially since COVID-19 hit) is always changing, you have to be willing to not only try new things. But talk to individuals that are ideally a few to several years into the career path you want. That individual has already gone through the process, the job search, the interviews, training and they have a much better idea of what employers want right now than you or I. Luckily, at Pathrise these individuals (the mentors) are here and they are active practitioners in their respective career fields. Ask them for guidance, you will waste less time in job searching and get to the job offer quicker. Lastly, the job search can very quickly be lonely and if you have been spending months receiving rejection after rejection, than would it not be better to sign the ISA with Pathrise? Pathrise only gets paid, when you get paid first and they make sure the work put into the job search is done most efficiently and effectively. Please do the application process with Pathrise, get the job offer and if successful, your story will help job seekers get the roles they deserve.
