Extremely difficult to setup We purchased this product from the UK site, shipped to a UK address, and it simply does not work when registering in Europe. The app prompts you to select a region — we tried Europe, North America, and others — none worked. It does not connect via Bluetooth and does not connect to Wi-Fi, and the recommended troubleshooting steps caused every Wi-Fi-connected device in our home to disconnect, wasting hours and adding enormous stress, to the point it brought my heavily pregnant wife to tears. My wife and I are reasonably technologically literate. We bought this product expecting a modern smart device. Instead, it requires advanced networking knowledge just to attempt registration. After reading numerous other bad reviews citing similar experiences, I am dumbfounded that a company would release a product that cannot even complete the setup process. Customer service were able to support setup eventually, but appear to be US based so timezone differences cause delays in resolution. Ultimately we were able to setup on an ipad. For me: this is pretty poor considering the price tag - you would expect product testing to reveal that those without this optionare going to have difficulties setting up. Once setup it has been working well though. Not a great experience overall.

The sock base and video monitor are horrendous to set up. Taking hours on multiple days to configure each. The app freezes continuously and is slow to open the camera when I'm trying to check on baby. I appreciate the sock monitor but the overall performance of the app makes me wish I bought the camera somewhere else.

We are on our second camera in six months and it has been nothing but frustration. They were supposed to even send me a return shipping label to send back the old camera and never did. I reached out to them once about it and they never sent it still, and I’ve been trying to contact them with the second camera cause we were issue's and don’t hear from anyone. We are very frustrated with the camera, we love the sock, but the camera goes out like in the middle of the night and my baby is crying and I have no idea because the camera stopped working, so I ended up having to buy just a regular monitor. Would like to get a refund for the cam but probably won’t.

When it works, it works. When it doesn’t work it’ll send you into a blind panic, keep you awake with the incessant bleeping, and make you want to launch it out of the window. We live in a flat, with excellent WiFi coverage. Yet, we struggle to have the base station connect to WiFi. We have a snuza hero too and this is much more reliable, cheaper, and better customer service and longevity of product. Most recently, I accidentally washed the sensor, it still works but owlet customer service must use AI? They ignore my emails and keep repeating that it is outside of warranty due to washing (I know) and that I would need to contact to get a replacement sensor (I did). When trying to buy a replacement sensor, the bots on the email advise that they cannot supply replac ment sensors as it’s “medically certified” which is a load of BS. Especially as in the UK the NHS do not support the use of owlet, but they do support the use of Snuza Hero. Customer service is abysmal, glad I got the owlet at a steal of £160. It is not even worth £100 though. Don’t waste your money on a gimmick, technology like smart watches (Garmin, Apple etc) make this bit of tech laughable. Buy snuza hero instead for peace of mind if required.

Exceptionally patchy video connection / despite having a mesh system at home and superfast broadband owlet continuously fails to connect to camera (and even worse will connect to one but the one right next to the other then says it can’t connect). Given the price the connection should be rock solid for camera. Added to this the base has virtually no range - even in a standard sized house it consistently beeps to say it has lost connection meaning that I effectively have to have it in the same room as the sock which defeats the point (and the app won’t let me switch off notifications for this either). When it works it is a good bit of kit - but it is so unreliable that I can’t recommend. Avoid.

I am a huge "smart home" fan. Most of the things in our house are automated or smart in a way or another. I was really excited when we first discovered this product, but discovered almost on the first day that if it's not snake oil, it's very close to it. It has many wifi issues, it does not always connect. The wifi is perfect in our house as I have more than 50 "smart" things connected to the network without any issues. The app is buggy, very buggy!!! They have multiple apps listed on Google Play, out of which only one somehow works.. but barely. One of them (Owlet dream) tells me that my sock is not supported, that I need a newer one.. me having the newest sock available for purchase for them.. Who made this crap? Who takes the decisions at this company? Why have multiple apps, doing the same thing? I've basically spent 2 days trying to pair the sock and the camera to the network, contacted support multiple times, and they tried to be helpful, but they only give generic advice, which is not good. Also the support "chat" expires in like a minute or two, so while I was trying to do what they said, it closed automatically and then you have to start the whole process again. Having now used it for around a month, I am not sure I can 100% trust this product, I know it's not a medical device, but if one can't fully trust it, what's even the point of such device? It's better without it in my opinion. It gives quite many false positives. It certainly does not give you peace of mind like they say on the box.

Honestly for the amount of money this costs I’m shocked at how faulty and temperamental it is! I put it on as per the instructions every night, it’s securely fastened and in the correct position and the yellow placement alarm goes off all the time!! When I tell you I’ve asked multiple family members and friends to check it I’m not lying! All agree that it’s perfectly placed, and it seems I’m not the only person with this problem. Also when I go on the app it takes ages to tell me her readings, which isn’t very helpful. The only reason I’ve given two stars is because on the rare occasion that it works without the yellow alarm continuously going off it is quite reassuring and it’s helpful to track their sleep. However, for my next baby I’ll be looking at alternatives, feel like I spent an extortionate amount of money on a prototype/work-in-progress! Lastly, I feel icky that it’s so expensive considering this device is marketed as something that saves lives. It feels a bit disingenuous when you’re basically costing out a large % of parents, probably parents that need it the most (according to statistics), if it was £150 a lot more people could afford, and considering it’s far from perfect I think that’s more than reasonable. It just feels like the company is preying on anxious mums, but selling them a product that in my experience has only increased my anxiety.

We have this for the sock and the camera. Generally the sock works ok; however, the camera is pretty useless. There is a delay, it often cuts out completely, and if we have the sound on in the background then that often cuts out too. This is with a high speed broadband and the app itself saying the Internet connection is 'good'. When emailing about any issues, they've just sent a generic response and left it. Would recommend a radio baby monitor rather than a wifi based one.
