Auction.ioReviews of outsource.com

I gave them 1 star in the year 2016. I am checking their website again in 2018 and I see that they have allowed opportunity to test the service with a moderate subscription rate. I will explore the website, give it another try with my existing account and leave a feedback that helps Internet Make a better place.

I started off about a couple of months ago to get some freelance work. I'll admit I was apprehensive about paying to get a freelance job - something I've never done. I will say I have a bit of a system when it comes to applying for gigs: 1. Apply as soon as I see them. 2. Be cheerful and provide background in my messages. 3. Don't even bother with posts at least a day old. Results: 1. Lackluster responses 2. No job offers I want to pull the plug because I'm getting the same run around and of course like a genius, I signed up for the subscription that I'm locked into. I emailed asking to get out of it, but I have to pay $300. So I figured keep it and make it work. It's still not working and I want out. Suggestion: Let folks sign up for shorter term subscriptions or even a month by month.

As the freelancer I am unhappy with the program. Positives: The payment system is terrific. They process the payment and the person seeking my work does not have any of my PII. The system works well. Negative: Not enough job opportunities. Many of the users post VERY vague requests for quotation. There is no way to communicate with them to ask for specific details. There is no feedback within the request for quote system so that I can gauge whether my price was too high, qualifications inadequate, etc. Disappointing.

Not enough information about the Job to be performed. How can I be expected to quote, such a sparse description of the project. How did the client come up with an offer, without a complete description?

Outsource is the place of many scam and many project are not funded or clients are not commited but are just "touching the water" On the other side freelancers have to pay expensive credits to send a quote to these fake projects.

Your credits are ridiculously expensive. The way to set up & accept a job, and receiving payment is cumbersome and a pain in the you know what.

Outsource charges you lots of credits to apply for jobs. They take a whole bunch of quotes from a lot of different artists but only one artist gets the job while they are cashing in on unsuspecting starving artists all vying for one job. They only guarantee that you will get one job for six months. They Charged me $101 for the guarantee of one job. And then the only thing they do is give you six m more months of their stupid service. THEY ORIGINALLY REFUSED TO REFUND the remaining months after I figured it out what was happening. When I posted my original post of one star they called me up immediately and offered me a refund for the remaining unused 5 months. They said this was against their policy but they were going to work with me. You will note all the glowing reports are for people who hire the artists. The ones who don't give enough adequate information for an artist to give fair quotes. The ones just looking for the lowest price but not willing to give you specifics of time involvement and expectations in order for you to determine if the venture is worth your time. Quotes request are generally one sentence to one short paragraph. The artists are not providing glowing reports. I still wouldn't recommend their services.

Job posters do not post enough information for us to quote correctly. They need to state what they are looking for in a quote other then prices. They need to state how many hours they willing to pay for. Beware Outsource does not refund any money for contractors being able to quote.
