Live in San Juan Capistrano. We have been waiting for a year and a half for s and g home care.Now known as stance to get a wheelchair to us.It's usually no more than six months.They've ordered the wrong wheelchair and keep trying to bring me the same wheelchair. I've been on the phone with optum today.For the tenth time(formal complaints that have not been resolved) first person put me on, hold for twenty two minutes, second person hung up the phone on me. Third person actually went somewhere, realized the referral expired by now, and has been on the phone, trying to get ahold of them for 22 minutes. Because they don't answer the phone, but I'm concerned today with the two people from optum. Prior to this third phone call, that did not do their job and thought they could get away with it.Diana was the awesome 3rd person who finally got in done and very thorough ,She is the only one out of three that did her job..and I was not rude to anyone honestly since this has not been resolved when the incorrect wheelchair was ordered in Jan 2025 and today is July23rd 2026 and seven formal complaints have went out with still no new wheelhair

Again, Optum sent my bill to collection. This would be the second time. First time was over $20,000 in which I had to go through hoops to get my insurance to take care of this issue. Now it has happened again. This is a battle going back and forth. My health insurance paid for the medical visit and Optum still charging me the visit. I try to call but they are not able to help me out with this issue. Also, when I explain the issue, I get an unfriendly response. So I push back and get even more frustrated. All billing department in the OPTUM care should be going back to training for this medical program. Also, they should be getting coached on how to handle customers when they are at their end wits of trying to get these issues resolved.

As a Humana insured senior, I recently found out that Optum Care is a subsidiary of Humana which includes their billing department. I have never like them, they are owned by UHC and I worked for them, I know how they operate but now, I find out the reason my Urgent Care Bill has not been paid it's because Optum does the billing for Humana. UHG!!!! For 2 months I've been trying to find out why, I am getting billed for a copay of $65 when I did my due diligence and called Humana before going twice to ensure what my liability was if any. I was told by two different agents that I did not have a copay. Now the provider is calling me to tell me, Humana is not paying it and they tell me Optum is the one saying NO. I am extremely upset that this is the kind of maze insurance companies make you go through. I hate OPTUM CARE!!! I will never deal with them, so I will have to change to Blue Cross Blue Shield because Humana has just become United Health Care. They just want to sell you drugs, deny your claims erroneously and call you everyday about what you need to do next with your health while they truly don't care. It is so obvious, they just want to use you as the spender so they can charge Medicare for BS they think it's important but when pain comes like I have just gone through, 6 weeks after a pain management referral from my docotor, Optum just called me to talk about it. Thank God, he has healed me!!!! I NEVER WANT TO USE OPTUM AND AS SOON AS I AM ABLE TO, I WILL SWITCH TO A REPUTABLE INSURANCE COMPANY WITHOUT OPTUM CARE.

Optum is THE worst for any healthcare, period!!!

After 2 visits to Optum Urgent care for Bronchitis, I am still not feeling well. I have a terrible cough that never ends. No sleep. Can't go to work. When I sent a message to the patient portal asking if there were anything else I could do, Clarissa answered and merely reiterated what I had been prescribed as if I were an imbecile who can't read or follow instructions. That's it??

Optum Greater Bay Area Medical group for HMO under Healthnet is the WORST! They dont deserve any stars! Before it was Physicians Medical Group(PMG) which was not that great but at least a few of the reps know what they are talking about. It is impossible to get a hold of Optum rep who knows what they are doing. Some talked like they're drunk, sleepy or really not excited to do their job. I am going thru a dispute right know with Optum because their new system is telling my provider NO Authorization needed. This creates a problem because I have a Healthnet POS which is a hybrid insurance that has HMO and PPO. In order to be approved with NO out of pocket coinsurance under the HMO plan, prior authorizations need to go thru Optum with an authorization #. With their new online portal where providers input the CPT codes for service like surgery and it gives a No authorization needed, the provider then submit the claim to Healthnet in my case, it triggered it to be paid under my PPO plan causing me a hefty coinsurance. I spent several hours on the phone with Optum who transferred me to at least 5 agents that can't even tell what's going on. They can't even get thru their Utilization Claims management department and this is within their network so how do they expect me or Healthnet to connect with an agent for a dispute. I have an ongoing dispute with them and have filed an appeal/grievance and a consumer complaint with the California Dept of Managed Health Care to investigate. They are the WORST medical group!

Shady billing practices. Billing support unresponsive to assisting in updating billing information. Was unable to have error fixed and instead, had bill sent to collectors.

My former provider New West Physicians became Optum in 2025. I've had many free Medicare wellness exams in the past. During my 2026 visit I was charged for the visit. There was no difference in this visit that those previous visits, nothing was discussed that might trigger additional charges. I asked them several times to explain why I was charged for my visit and they never provided a suitable explanation. They finally turned my billing over to a collection agency and I finally paid the bill. Is this how you want to be treated by your healthcare provider.
