The purchase process was fine. But nobody asked us or anybody else that we spoke to about the onward tickets. Neither at the checkin airport, nor at checkout or immigration to Indonesia. Nobody cares. It's a stupid rule and companies exploit it. We see it as a waste of money and wouldn't to it again.

Would not recommend. Booked a return ticket for my visa in Sri Lanka (back to Chennai, India - which is a 1h 15 min flight) - received a plane ticket from Colombo via Dubai to Chennai … I did not feel comfortable with such a suspicious booking - like no one would actually fly like this! Contacted customer support - which was quick - however they told me „no alternatives can be found „ (I was literally asking for a direct flight from Sri Lanka to any Indian airport within a 3 week timeframe…) Later they said they generally don’t provide direct flights. So I got a quick refund which was good and appreciated.

I used OnwardTicket.com for “onward proof” and the key issue is you don’t get to see the actual itinerary/routing before paying. After purchase, my booking was generated with a very unrealistic route (Bangkok → Jakarta routed via Japan), which completely defeats the purpose of a simple, believable onward reservation. If you’re buying onward proof, you need something that looks normal at a glance (direct or a sensible regional connection). A long detour like this is likely to raise questions at check-in/immigration, and I wasn’t comfortable relying on it. I contacted support and was told the routing is system-generated and that they couldn’t offer alternatives for my selected date. The response felt dismissive, especially because the whole problem could be avoided if customers could preview route options before purchase or select a preference (e.g., “direct/shortest realistic routing”, “no long-haul detours”, “regional connections only”). To their credit, they eventually processed a refund as a “one-time courtesy” (and said it may take up to 5 business days). However, it took unnecessary back-and-forth to get there. Si NO tienes VISA AMERICANA, te recomiendo no usarlo porque perderás tu dinero. Reserve dos tickets y aparentemente son aleatorios no puedes escoger la aerolínea y me pusieron escala en USA por lo que no será posible utilizar estos tickets!!!

I bought an onward ticket but because it only had a booking ref and not a ticket number, I was refused boarding. To get an onward ticket with a ticket number you have to purchase the full flight. So I missed my flight, i have to purchase an actual onward ticket (Philippines) I'm now travelling back home but will have to come back again 3 hours later. I was able to just cancel the flight ticket in time when I found out that even if i bought the legit onward ticket I would not receive until after my flight had gone (booked another flight on short notice was an extra £300). I did get a refund but it does not tell you anywhere about having the ticket number. Beware

Onward ticket, can book a ticket for you, at the time, i think there's no option for you to check the itinerary prior booking, so, that was a big inconvenience in my personal case... I truly appreciate they helped me with a refund.
