I don't know why Omnipod has such great reviews on YouTube and I Facebook groups. Its awful especially after I switched from Dexcom G6 to G7. You have to wear them right next to each or they don't work. My blood sugar control has gotten worse and I am constantly correcting with an insulin pen when I get over 250. Omnipod doesn't seem to work foe me over 250. I think about my pump all the time and am constantly checking my blood sugar and was not doing that on regular injections. I do not get the hype of pumps. I have been trying to make this work for 3 years and am going back to injections.

Hate it. This is supposed to be life changing and take the ease off daily injections. I’ve had type one diabetes for 36 years and was super excited about this so called life changing device. But it’s been nothing but a nightmare. The device just no longer connects to my libre or the device they give you to manage the pod. I go almost whole days with no blood sugar readings, the pod and the libre can not connect and I have changed both numerous time and at the same time. The omnipod service helper said that it’s probably because I work next to a laptop all day so it is interring with the device (who doesn’t). I’ve had two break and start making the alarm sounds. I am always in limited mode because it can’t read my libre sensor. It’s actually been so Stressful I am debating leaving it and going back to manual. The omnipod helper gave every excuse from having the tv on during application to showering too long. Thing is it worked fine for a week or so then went totally down hill

Using the Omnipod 5 has been an eye opening experience, previously using a tubed pump with cannula I had occasional issues, with Omnipod 5 and G6 sensor I am have weekly if not daily issues, not connecting, constant alerts although a blood glucose reading is perfect. I am seriously looking at reverting back to a tubed insulin pump due to the poor performance and lack of support regarding this system.

I am very frustrated. I was diagnosed DM1 at 17, I am now 63. This was my first pump. I had declined previously approvals. I have been a RN for 38 years and have seen some wonderful responses to systems thru the years but they seemed quality of life limiting. I was a busy nurse, busy with daily gym workouts and time consuming hobbies. Pump systems always seemed like they would be in the way. Very controlled diabetes until the last 10 years. So I caved and started on Omnipod 5. The transition was confusing and not well organized or communicated. My daily glucose and food spikes are thru the roof. I developed and abscess at insert site. Nothing good to say yet. My A1C is up.

Poor communication and very difficult to arrange a replacement for a failed pod. 5 pods failed out of the 3 month batch. No standardised way to report a failed pod. The pod works well and does what it says until it fails before its replacement date. The amount of information needed to report seems excessive and needs to be done very close to the time of the fail. This requires a phone call which is not always convenient, especially if it fails at night.

I'm new to the pod and already see some problems I'm going to have to deal with constantly. Here's a thought, why not make the adhesive part bigger or wider around the pod. That little plaster at the back doesn't hold the pod. Especially on children. Bathtimes, it falls off. And nighttime the child pulls it out and off.

I moved from Omnipod Dash to Omnipod Five about five months ago and have had constant problems. Most of my issues are at night when I get alarm warnings/sinals; waking me at 3, 4, 5 o'clock etc. These alarms are for loss of sgnal fgrom the sensor, (Libra Two Plus), both of which are in line of sight and only 8 inches apart. I also get alarms, also at night, when the pod just decides to chnage modes, also for no apparent reason. When I contacted Insulet they could not give an explanation and only offered to replace the pods Then in the last three weeks I have experienced the pod giving off a continuous loud high pitch whine. Last nigh at 5 o'clock in the morning!! The only way I have found to silence the pod is to hit it with a hammer. When I spoke to Insulet they suggested I poke a pin in the back of the pod to stop the noise! Once again without explanation as to why this is happening. I beleive this product has come to market without ironing out the technical bugs They have not given any thought about the consequences of how this is affecting the patient I wish Roche had never pulled out of the market has I had 12 years of hassle free performance from their products. The time has come to look for an alternative punp system. Omnipod 5 'sounds ' a great technical product, but does not live up to expectations

Omnipod has the worst phone engineers in the business. It takes forever for them to enable their app to work on a new phone with better specs. They should be ashamed of themselves
