Thinking this was the official Canadian government site (they've clearly put a lot of effort into making it look as if it is), I entered all the details for 2 eTAs. When I got to the payment page, it said 170 USD. The actual cost for 2 is 14CAD or about 11 USD. This is an outrageous markup. They get one star because they did delete all the information I had entered (more than enough for identity theft) very quickly after I demanded that they do so - or at least they said they had. They may be OK for more complicated visa applications, but for simple ones - watch out. It is NOT the offical government site.

I live in Australia, and was travelling to Canada this June 2020 before Covid-19 struck. I ordered two visas, paid and had confirmation within 15 minutes. After a few days I told my friends what I had paid, $75 US @, and they almost feel off their chair, as they had paid about $15@. I left it a few months and last night emailed the company to ask it I could 1. Cancel the visas and get a full refund(as can't travel) 2. If can't cancel, can I get a partial refund or can they match the price of other companies? 3. Explain why I paid so much?. I had a lovely ladie Jayne respond all most straight away. She said that once in the system they can't be cancelled, the reason why it is more expensive is because they last 5 years or whatever your passport expiry date is (which ever comes earlier) and they offer 24 hour support and other reasons you can read up on. Anyway Jayne offered 25% credit back for each visa, as a gesture, which we accepted. Jayne processed them straight away and sent a follow up email. Jaynes service was impeccable, especially in these very hard times where emotions are running high. Thank you Jayne and too your company for showing compassion and understanding.

We somehow missed the necessity to have an eTA to enter Canada until <24 hours prior. In a stressed panic I emailed the 24/7 helpline and Jayne was an absolute calming godsend. All was sorted within an hour of first contact - my husband and I are ever so grateful. The process itself was super speedy but oh so not recommended to leave until the last minute! Thank you Jayne for answering our questions and calming our frazzled nerves.
