Gift card offered, but not delivered! I ordered an HP toner cartridge in June which came with a $20 gift card as a reward. The toner arrived as promised, but I had to call Office Depot after emails arrived stating that the gift card was delivered, but nothing came. Now, the gift card is scheduled for delivery at the end of July - over 5 weeks after the order! Completely unacceptable. Do not offer something special to entice people to buy items if you cannot deliver the promised reward. A $20 gift card should be something standard, especially if it is offered to the general public.

I don't want to give them any stars
I don't want to give them any stars! I had such a horrible experience that still isn't being resolved. I ordered two Bluetooth speakers on sale and didn't even receive that order. I got a pack of Manila folders instead, something I never ordered. So I contacted them and they told me they will order a full refund back but that isn't what I wanted. Instead they told me to repurchase but it wasn't going to be the same price. After a while they agreed to repurchase for me at the same price, mind you this was after speaking to two agents! I am supposed to get refunded for my original order, give them back the pack of Manila folders then I will receive me order. So I check my bank account and they freaking charged me twice! It was just mistakes after mistakes. So frustrating, I am praying it all goes as plan. Currently still waiting to see what the hell is going on.

Runaround champions!
I have been having the most disheartening and distressing of experiences with this company! I ordered an office desk over a month ago. The first order was defective; the second was the wrong color; and the third delivery never made it! In my utter disgust I requested a refund. I was told it was being processed; then that it had to be investigated; next that I would receive my credit to the account it was taken from; and lastly that I would receive it via mail!!! Never was this communicated to me until now.
I have never been treated so poorly by a company that prides itself on overall great products and services as well as customer service! The loss of productivity and a still empty office is utterly ridiculous! Shame on you Office Depot for treating your customers this way!!

rip off
I worked for this company in 2 different stores here in Florida..
they buy stuff cheap and sell it for a lot more
I was fired for taking a 5$ gift card from a customer who gave it to me because she didn't care for 5$, got this loss & prevention guy come to me and fire me, I would never recommend this awful company.... the say they merged with Officemax but that isn't true, they bought them and can't even afford to change the name of the companies....
we started fixing cell phones, we started getting awesome parts but then as usual they went cheap/chinese.... I would suggest to people to go to Staples instead (between crap or crap.....)

Horrific customer communications, Terrible off shore customer service.
Ordered a printer at a store. They said they had it in stock. They went in the back room. They couldn't find it. They said they'd order it for me on the website and ship it to my house, and it would arrive in 5 days.
On 3 I get an email from officedepot.com saying the item was now on backorder, ETA, unknown. 60 minutes later I get another email, ETA in 3 more days. Then an hour later, another email, eta in 4 days.
Then I call customer service to ask them to give me a real status since I've just gotten 3 conflicting emails in less than 120 minutes. They say they are showing delivery without any problem. I ask for a tracking number, and hmmm.... they can't provide one. They say they will email it the next day.
The next day comes, and goes, no email with tracking number.
The next day comes & goes, no tracking number, and the order still shows on the website "processing".
The next day comes & goes, no tracking number, but another "status update email" saying I'll have my printer on time.
Today is the day the printer was supposed to arrive. Well, surprise, surprise. No printer. Call to the poorly trained off shore (Manilla, Philippines) customer service people. They say "Yes sir Mr. Sir, I am happy to help you. Yes sir, I thank you for calling, and I am sorry for your trouble. Your printer will arrive today." I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday, so I ask how they know this - they said "that is the date we told the manufacturer to deliver it." I almost fell out of my chair laughing! I politely asked for the tracking number - they said they didn't have it but would email it to me tomorrow.
It is now night time, no printer. No follow-up email. Status on the website unclear.
Thankfully, I called the local store, and they sounded like a dog that had been beaten too much - they apologized, and begged me not to call customer care - just call them directly. They themselves think the call center & e-commerce group is a joke, and they are the EMPLOYEES at the store. They are loaning me a printer until mine arrives.
To summarize: Three phone calls to customer service without any trustworthy or reliable information. Over 5 emails from OfficeDepot, all with inconsistent, and contradictory information. No follow-ups as promised from any customer care person in the call centers. Oh, and they charged my credit card, but can't provide me any proof my printer has shipped.
