Did not qualify for no upfront payment
Did not qualify for no upfront payment, no reason given, and took too long to receive the policy. I received the policy 2 hours after the car dealership closed on Saturday and had to take an Uber home and another Uber back to the dealership on Monday to pick up my car.
Response from OCHOAug 12, 2026
Hi, we're sorry for the inconvenience this caused, especially at such an important moment. Not everyone qualifies for $0 down as it's based on individual factors like credit history, but everyone gets a significantly reduced down payment compared to standard policies. We also understand the document delay made a stressful situation worse. That's not the experience we want anyone to have. Please reach out at [email protected] or call (800) 220-1416 and we'd like to see how we can help.

Ocho used to be my auto insurance…
Ocho used to be my auto insurance company. They failed to report to mvd my vehicle being insured. 3 months later I received a letter mvd suspended my plates. They misleading me so I told them on the phone I want an email of my continued coverage. I decided to start a dispute. I took the email and reinstated at mvd for 50.00. Ocho also has been charging me each two weeks 41.00 dollars. Yes 83.00 monthly...I am trying to resolve this dispute with my refund.
Good Service is hard to get with Ocho. None of the departments work with another..!! I'm upset.
Response from OCHOJul 24, 2026
Hi, we're sorry for the frustration and we understand how stressful a plate suspension can be. To clarify: OCHO is an insurance broker, not the carrier. MVD reporting is handled automatically by the carrier after a policy is generated, but there can be a delay before the MVD receives it. When you contacted us on May 20th, we manually reported your coverage to the state that same day and sent you the verification confirmation. The $50 reinstatement fee is set by the state and not something OCHO charges or controls. As for the $41 payments, those cover the balance of coverage already used after your cancellation. We'd like to resolve your dispute and are happy to walk through everything with you. Please call us at (800) 220-1416.

Just remember to read in fine print. I wanted to get a refund for a car I had just put insurance on that was no longer available to me and cancel out my contract these people told me I had to pay $168. To cancel and they can refund my down payment and it was only a day or two that went past so I just loss out on $89

Hi, we're sorry to hear about your situation. Our broker fee covers the work of securing your policy and funding your loan, and is earned at the point of purchase, so it is non-refundable even on early cancellations. We understand that's frustrating, especially in unexpected circumstances like losing access to a vehicle. Having said that, we'd be happy to take a look at your case and see how we can help. Please reach out at [email protected] or call (800) 220-1416.

It's worse insurance company on earth they took money didn't refunds also cancelled my sure after the agent suggested a lower insurance and told me to just wait for the paperwork to sign and he promised he will refund back to my account the difference. I waited till next day I did not received no paperwork or refund till I called back about the paperwork and refunded. Agent said we will not be able to refund you cause already sign the first paperwork.
Response from OCHOJun 30, 2026
Hi Joseph, we're sorry this experience caused so much stress, that's the last thing we want when you're trying to sort out your car insurance. From what we can see, our team was working to resolve the issue and process your refund, but we understand that doesn't make the confusion any less frustrating. Refunds can sometimes take a few business days to appear depending on your bank, so it's worth checking with them if you haven't seen it yet. If you still have outstanding questions, please reach out to us at [email protected] and we'll get it sorted.

I was told I’d get a better rate
I was told I’d get a better rate, but after waiting almost 1.5 hours, the quote was much higher than expected. I have a clean MVR and no lapse in coverage, so the pricing made no sense. The biweekly payment they offered is essentially a full month’s premium. Not a good experience. And the car is a 4 cylinder yet I'm paying almost $400 per month RIDICULOUS. AS SOON AS I CAN I'M CANCELLING

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I understand your frustration with the quote and pricing.
I want to clarify that as a broker, we don't set insurance rates or pricing. Those are determined by the insurance carriers themselves based on their underwriting criteria, which can include factors beyond MVR history (such as age, location, vehicle type, coverage limits, claims history, and more). While we shop multiple carriers to find competitive options, we can't control their individual pricing.
That said, we'd like to help. A few suggestions:
1. Get a second opinion: We'd be happy to re-shop your coverage with different carriers to see if better rates are available.
2. Explore your coverage: Sometimes adjusting coverage limits or deductibles can impact premiums.
3. Ask about discounts: Ensure you're getting all available discounts (safe driver, bundling, etc.).
If you'd like to discuss this further or explore other options, please reach out to us directly. We're here to help you find the best value possible.
We appreciate your patience and would welcome the chance to make this right.
