Not magic, but close.
I don't want to overhype it or say it's a "magic cure" for alcoholism, but for me it was a game changer entirely. As someone who went to rehab in 2022, been trying to quit for years, knowing that alcohol is no good for me but always still wanting it, the want is finally gone. This has been the easiest first month and a half of sobriety I've ever put together. The idea of drinking truly feels "meh, I'd honestly rather not," My cognitive knowledge that I shouldn't drink finally outweighs that supernatural desire that's been winning in the past.

Thank you for sharing your experience so thoughtfully and openly! I think you hit the nail on the head in saying that there's no "magic cure," but finding the right tools can nonetheless be a game changer. I really value your insight that medication can tip the balance and finally make it easier to follow through on our best intentions and knowledge. Congratulations on your first month and a half of sobriety, keep it going, and please don't hesitate to let us know if we can support you at any point in the journey. Jonathan.
