It's important for people to know that the medication does work, you just have to stick with it. Also the staff is very helpful when you have questions, such as side effects from the medication.
The staff at OAR has made my experience a life changer! I know I can ask them questions and they will give me support and suggestions. Overall great experience!!

Naltrexone Experience
I have been taking 50mg of Naltrexone each day for 4 weeks. My cravings for alcohol have been greatly diminished. I have had a drink a few times, but have not needed an additional drink because there was no “buzz”. I seem to be able to “take it or leave it”. I have not decided for myself if I want to totally stop drinking, or to be able to drink occasionally, but under control. I will continue to experiment and make that decision in the future.

Naltraxone has changed my life
Naltraxone has changed my life! Besides no longer drinking or craving alcohol I have a better relationship with my wife, my kids, my friends & my grandkids. It’s really a no brainer. It just takes all the cravings away. My energy has increased and I’m no longer putting myself or anyone else in physical danger. If questioning it, try it!

It just works!
Finding and receiving the proper prescription is easy and prompt. The regular follow-ups and check ins are helpful and appreciated. I didn't like how much I was drinking on a daily basis. With a family history of alcoholism, I've always been watchful of my drinking but I felt that the urges were getting too strong. I started in April. The urges are gone. I no longer associate alcohol with dinner out, social gatherings, or stressful days (and there have been). I've lost 15 pounds mostly due to the curbed appetite. I do have a mild headache every so often but that I can live with. I renewed for another 3 months just to be sure, but I feel at this point I am in a really great place. Thank you for what you do.
