Ronald O Perelman Emergency Center
This hospital employs nurses that verbally assault visitors for absolutely no reason. I was standing still near the entrance of the visitor door because I had just got done talking to a nurse about my name tag before going through to see a family member in the emergency for the second time when all of a sudden from my right a nurse wheeling out a patient SCREAMS from the top of her lungs "You HAVE to WAIT, you HAVE to WAIT, you HAVE to WAIT". I turn to look at the nurse I was just talking to and she motions for me to move forward and as I do I stare at this woman to understand why she just lashed out at me with such hostility. She repeats herself. Then another visitor, a man, points to himself to double check if she was talking to him, and she says "No, I was talking to that young lady right there" and points her entire arm out to me. She was too afraid to say yes to him because she knows he would've taken action against her exceedingly rude, unacceptable and unprofessional behavior just like what I'm doing. I've been here several times before, I know how things work. Last time a man opened the door for me and it wasn't her. I was also standing the furthest away from the door. She attacked me because she felt like she could get away with it. That is unacceptable. The fact she is apparently a nurse is laughable. If she did this to me, I wonder how she behaves toward actual patients! She pointed out that I was young so I'm taking this as an act of discrimination and ageism. This type of behavior is absolutely deplorable. I don't know where she gets the energy to behave this way at 3am. I reported her to her charge nurse by calling and speaking with the nurse manager's office. I have also called and left a message with the NYU Langone Patient Relations. More action shall be taken if there is no confirmation of her facing consequences for her actions. Description: Black Female, Short around 5'2, Fat, Dark brown skin, big round dark eyes. Wore a turquoise cap and dark blue/gray scrubs. She sits behind the curtained area in the waiting room near the front of the visitor door.
