Subscriptions!! Be aware!! Very difficult to cancel once subscribed as has been mentioned. Seems tilted in their favour and requires a lot of your own time on chat and a roulette as to whether you manage to find someone who knows what they’re doing in order to be able to cancel. Once you finally manage to find an expert who was btw very helpful, you then get passed to someone who attempts to sell you yet another subscription!!! Before it can be authorised. Seriously!!!

The New York Times has been lying about the Gaza war. Journalistic Fraud is what they are doing. Their sources are no good because they don’t do their homework. They repeat the same thing over and over. They support Israel only. Follow them if you want falsehoods.

1) Their news is no longer reliable. 2) Their news is biased. 3) Their online subscription is chaos. 4) Their online customer support is chaos.

Fascist loving right wing propaganda vehicle. The stated objective of the NYT is the destruction of democracy. -10 stars, hope it closes its doors.

Finally I got through, despite trying to cancel some months ago, I just gave up in sheer frustration. Today I received a reminder re increased subscription charges…on foot of that I found a local number and called. For the last 8 to 9 months I have received absolutely nothing in my inbox, yet a monthly fee was taken from my account. I was kept waiting today while my account number was deemed incorrect as well as my post code, being told I had changed them, all blatantly untrue. I assume the NYT earns a pretty sum from these 1800 numbers. Eventually I was put through to a supercilious individual Who contradicted everything I said and I was constantly reminded that the NYT doesn’t do refunds..besides which after nine months they would not believe that I had previously attempted to cancel, they have no record of my attempts! I was given to understand this customer is a liar.. I really wondered if I was actually in contact with scammers when I requested a cancellation reference number be emailed to me…the answer? Our email system is down! I requested a ref number anyway and I felt it was off the top of his head, though I hope not …here it is 4050729407.

There is no button for you to unsubscribe yourself. Instead, you are forced to either call a helpline or enter an online chat. I entered the online chat and the representative did actually cancel my subscription. However, this took about ten minutes and included a very mild attempt to dissuade me from cancelling. Not a significant inconvenience but it certainly is a dirty ploy.
