In reality the review was good, but the downside is that they do not review your patient notes, even though they advertised this service. I have been speaking with “Ravi” for this service, but he did not do anything about it (for the fifth time). In addition, I also spoke with this same person for a discount as my medical school had a direct collaboration with NYCSprep and he told me that the discount was a possibility and that he was going to ask Dr. Soma for it; something that never happened. I was able to see all the effort that Dr. Soma has given to this business, but unfortunately his employees do not share his same vision, something what will affect medical students pockets for sure.

Positives : words to avoid, basic examination, how to order patient notes and break the ice with SPs. Negatives : no actual history taking questions for every system, bad MSK examination with no special tests, many abbreviations in PN not accepted by the official site.

They don’t have enough staff to take care of students. The rooms are nice. It’s nice that you can come and practice as much as you want

Some cases were a little bit too confused and not helpful. Some feedbacks from SP were not sufficient to prepare the next stage.

The preceptor and the simulated patients were excellent. Enviroment was very friendly.But I give average because of the many last minute changes about the schedule and the course place etc.( I had to arrange my flight tickets for Ny than had to take the course in Chicago. So the course cost me extra money and stress. Also my course was the first course in Chicago and it was a bit disorganised ). By the way I failed the real exam due to my english level(sep part) and had no problem at the patient data gathering and communication skills. Thanks for everything.

If you do your research on other USMLE CS prep courses out there, this is on the cheaper side. After dedicating 2 weeks to this program, I can say that it is definitely worth the money if what you need is an environment dedicated only to this exam. They help with tips, example cases and tricks to get you through your test day. Personally, I needed help on typing out notes within the alloted time, which is one aspect they put a lot of emphasis on. My only complaint was the day of the simulated exam included in the fee, they messed up the patient information on the door so any interaction with that SP was compromised from the beginning. They apologized and I was given an extra patient to work on, however the head instructor was very verbal on how the error did not need to be addressed. This left an overall negative tone for me when I finished the length of the course. If it weren’t for his attitude, I would recommend it further down the line, but because of him, I won’t.

I signed up for the basic course. I passed my test Thank God I would say that the 3 day review was not of a great value to me Neither was the mock test practicing in the center with other colleagues was the most beneficial thing for me and it worth the money i payed.
