In our patient portal, postponing a refill and cancelling an auto refill are two separate actions: a postpone moves the next renewal date, while a cancellation ends future shipments and shows under Inactive Auto Refills. Patients can cancel at any time in the portal, by email, or by calling us, and a reminder email goes out 48 hours before each renewal as a last chance to make changes. Once a prescription has been filled for a specific patient, pharmacy regulations don't allow it to be returned or reused, even if the package comes back unopened.
