NOCIX Refused to Restore a Cancelled Server Even for 24 Hours to Recover ~1.5TB of Data
**Important warning about data recovery after cancellation** I used a NOCIX server for approximately 4 years. One of my VMs contained approximately **1.5TB of data across multiple virtual disks**. When renewal became due, I encountered payment problems despite having funds available and trying different payment methods. I contacted NOCIX support multiple times and, on August 7, specifically requested **24–48 hours of temporary network access** so I could back up the data if I ultimately could not renew. The server was cancelled on August 8 for an overdue invoice. I then tried alternative solutions, including transferring the service to another account. NOCIX told me that the service could not be transferred. On August 10, I reduced my request to just **24 hours of temporary access** to complete my backup. Support replied: > “The server was cancelled for non payment we cannot recover it.” After I asked for escalation, the final response was: > “The server is cancelled, we cannot put the server back online.” The result was that I could not complete the migration of my approximately 1.5TB of data. I understand that NOCIX has payment and cancellation policies. My concern is that there was **no practical recovery window** offered after cancellation, despite my repeated attempts to resolve the billing issue and my requests for temporary access specifically to recover my own data. **If you store important data with NOCIX, maintain an independent backup and migrate well before the renewal deadline. Do not assume that a cancelled server can be temporarily restored for data recovery.** I have preserved the relevant support-ticket records and the complete conversation as an MHTML archive.
