Extremely Poor Quality – Avoid
I bought an Arabic alphabet necklace from Nimah Jewellery and was genuinely shocked when it arrived. The quality is nothing like the images shown on the website. The necklace looks cheap, with an extremely bright, brassy-looking gold finish and a very thick chain. The gold finish almost looks sprayed on, and it bears very little resemblance to the delicate, refined piece shown in the photographs. The website photographs are extremely flattering, so my advice is do not be fooled by them. What arrived looked like a completely different, much cheaper-quality product. When I contacted Nimah to return it because the item I received did not accurately reflect what was advertised, I was initially told they would exchange it as a “gesture of goodwill”. That wording is particularly frustrating because this wasn’t a request for a favour or an exchange as a courtesy. My issue was that the product did not match its online representation, so I was asking to return an item that I considered to have been misrepresented. After a considerable amount of back and forth, they eventually agreed to the return, only to tell me I would have to pay £4 to send it back. Given the reason for the return was that the product did not match the photographs/description I had purchased it from, I do not believe I should have been expected to pay the return postage. The customer service throughout has been incredibly frustrating and, in my experience, completely lacking in understanding or willingness to resolve what should have been a straightforward issue. I am now having to pursue the matter through American Express to request a chargeback. I would strongly recommend avoiding Nimah Jewellery. The necklace I received was extremely disappointing in quality, the product did not resemble the website photographs, and the customer service made an already disappointing purchase considerably worse.
